I have a few Islanders….I compared it to an "Americanized Seiko". Best value for the money hands down and its hard to find something bad to say about the brand.
Seeing two of my very favorite watch-folks show up in one vid… Fantastic. Love that ripple dial, and love the lighthouse caseback (which, if I'm not mistaken, was done by a follower from YT). I,ve bought several watches from Island Watch and they have been a pleasure to deal with. No problems and fast delivery. The in house Island watches ar e very good for the price point
This may sound weird but Jody and Marc are probably the 2 men I've spent the most screen time with in my life.
I am wearing a modded Islander right now*… Not a Northport, but those Seikalike early releases are fantastic bases to build from.
Marc is very well positioned to study his market and put out products that are broadly popular: even if the designs are a bit all over the place, they get bought in droves. Great value and Marc's reputation are what sell the product, not originality. His brand identity is him, basically.

It looks like a nice, well spec-ed watch, but the Islander branding and logo look cheap. Reminds me of early Christopher Ward watches.

I picked a Port Jefferson from Long Island Watch a couple of months ago and it has been on-wrist ever since! Quality for the price is well beyond expectations and their new designs are definitely a step in the right direction 👍🏻

One thing that I think you missed Jodi, is where the Islander Brand came from. It was born when the SKX was discontinued.
It allowed guys to get SKX style watch, with upgrades at a reasonable price. Not the sports 5 stuff that Seiko is pass off on us now.

Seeing the blue and white in your video is stealing the spotlight from Seafoam Green for me! Love this dial, and I’m rather fond of the simple indices and layout. Really dig the white rehaut. I’m with you on the “Miyota 9015” print on the dial….wouldn’t mind as much if it were centered together under the date window.

As Jody said, it's more of a cult of personality around Marc than any design masterclass.

I would agree with the micro adjust — really don't like a bracelet without it. My climate gets really hot and cold – the micro adjust just adds that much more comfort.

Perfect review, and > appreciate the honest moans and niggles that Jody put into this, despite getting the watch and tshirt for free. I agree on the warranty period and find Jody's assessment of the bracelet and other things to be a very interesting take.

Marc is a great guy and I'm pleased to have an Islander in my collection among the other pieces I've acquired from Long Island. I have purchased a few islander watches with no regrets, but do wish they were less conservative, especially with the hand sets. But like I said, they're a bang for the dollar
