Under the mosaic law, a man had to give a letter of divorce. A letter of divorce would only be necessary for legal reasons. Therefore, obeying the government is the will of God. A man that is not married according to the law in the state in which he resides, is not married in the sight of God, but is guilty of fornication. Under the old covenant it was sin for a man to be sexually involved with another man's wife, but there had to be legal proof that she Belonged to another man. The Lord is in support of the marriage license. Ask the woman at the well. Didn't Jesus tell her that she had 5 husbands and the one she was with at the time, was not her husband. The woman was guilty of fornication and adultery. The last man, was legally another woman's husband. There has to be legal proof that two people are married and all who have it not are still in sin. Lastly, only off the grid can a man be married without a marriage license and to be married to more than one woman. However, those who are such are guilty of fornication without the government required license. Brother, you are in sin. Hebrews 13:4 tells us what is going to happen to whoremonger and adulterers. BIBLICAL MARRIAGE IS ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN BECOMING ONE FLESH AND LEGALLY RECOGNIZED. POLYGAMY IS ADULTERY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST.
