Testing Our Metal | Farthest Frontier – Part 13 (Settlement Survival Game)

Farthest Frontier continues and we build ourselves a blacksmith so we can turn all the iron we have into useful things, such as tools, bigger tools and weapons! Finally we’re able to make our very own pointy metal things to jab people with and it comes at a good time because it does seem that a few of the Geekvale Guard are lacking melee weapons.

Our trading post is upgraded and it’s a beautiful thing to behold. There’s a lovely clock tower, flower boxes, artwork on the walls, it’s very nice indeed, and also it means new traders come in, one of which pops by to see us.

They arrive at a bad time however because we do get raided and it’s a very difficult one to deal with because some of them arrive at our newly built residential area which is lacking defences…

Also we get our barn set up (sort of), we make some lovely baskets and we finally get round to building some walls!

NOTE: This is the Early Access version of the game.

  1. I fence in all 4 sides of each field and just leave a gap of one square by the road for the farmers to walk through. I never bothered installing the gate, but it stopped the deer wandering in. Planting wheat every season is destroying your fertility. If you do one season with wheat and the other two a mix of beans/clover and turnip/carrot the fertility will slowly increase. Mixing crops will also help keep the weeds down so you only need to do maintenance like once every 3 seasons

  2. pastures are meant to move around-make land fertile for future fields. There is a "bug" that is now a feature where you can have your cattle graze on crop fields and it increases your fertility as well. But the new update (yeah yeah I talk about it a lot) is going to change it a little where if your cows graze on a field when it is growing crops, they will eat the crops. Speaking of the upcoming patch, it will make building walls faster and fix a major bug with the markets which should also fix the issue with food stocks low messages (or so is my understanding)

  3. Quick question on your fields are you sure you have a fence fully surrounding them. If yes then they may be broken at some point and need to be repaired like the market. If no then you may want to look into it.

  4. U need to fence in the fields for the crops and put in a gate so the farmers can enter the fields and tend to them. That will keep the animals out of the fields. I put up a fence when I set up my fields at the start that way by the time the field is ready for crops they already have a fence and a gate around them and the animals can’t get to them.

  5. you should keep your eyes on the prices, the 1ste trader bought clothing for 21 and the 2end one was selling it for 16 if you bought his full stock and sold it to the other you'd get 5 coints profit he had 300+ thats 1500 free cash, that would have been 1 armour for free…
