Tesla semi truck SECRET behind the truth!

Tesla truck, Semi trucks and trucks

The #teslatruck , the much-hyped, yet-to-be-released, battery-powered #semitruck, is an example of electric pie in the sky for hauling heavy loads.

Tesla is without a doubt a cult according to any full definition of the word. Elon Musk keeps breaking his promises about cars, self-driving technology, a future that is good for the environment, SpaceX rocket launches, and everything else. But you can count on him to apologise in public when he hasn’t done what he said he would do, painting a bright picture of the future. #trucks

  1. Tesla has made me more money than every other stock I have ever purchased combined. I currently own no stock. Also for the record I think Elon is a Bell end. The tide is turning and evs are the future.

Firstly the semitruck is not really for sale yet, and definitely not for sale in Australia. Secondly there is no comparison between new vehicles and 20 year old vehicles. The 20 year old one will be much cheaper. Thirdly truck ev infrastructure will come. It won't necessarily be paid directly by the truck owners. If you have a depot where the truck stays for a couple of hours to load or unload or for maintenance or for the night etc. Then you can use a cheaper charger to charge the truck up more slowly. There are bus depots that charge up hundred plus busses per night with chargers that in total cost a lot less than $1m. Super fast chargers at highway stops along busy truck routes can be owned by a commercial operator like petrol stations are and they can charge up multi trucks per charger per day. Forth, not all chargers have to be oil powered. In many places it makes sense for them to be renewable with a battery backup. In these cases they may also be able to feed power to the local grid and get paid to balance the grid with the batteries too. Lastly, as battery pack energy density increases so the weight of the truck decreases for the same range. This has been happening a lot recently and will continue in the future, although I have no idea what energy density the Tesla semi battery pack is currently at. I imagine in 3 to 5 years time it will have one that will mean the weight penalty for an EV truck is minimal.
