  2. If the cars will get common knowledge by learning from existing videos , then the best that can achieve is just the best level of driving shown in the used videos. In order to improve further the cars need to distinguish between good and bad. They need to grasp these concepts. Also the car needs to understand danger. Cars need to have the capability to learn from experience and to evaluate each situation on a good – bad scale.
    When you are talking about improvements of any kind, you are in fact make a relative compare between some values ( parameters defining that process) for example you can consider a better driving when sudden breaks are not present, so good vs bad in this case is the less sudden breaks.
    Learning and practice of any skill involves an evaluation of a certain parameter and decide on the direction of improvement towards a better value.

    Just a blind repeat of provided examples will never allow for exceeding the quality of the examples. You need an understanding of quality in order to improve. this is what I was referring by "distinguish between good and bad"

  3. Cannot disagree with you more about Twitter "getting better". The signal to noise ratio has never been worse and leveraging the community for moderation ignores the realities that moderation is slower than disinformation distribution, requires more interested users, and there is no reasonable mechanism for retraction or to let someone know something they saw been incorrect. The value as a citizen journalism platform is deeply damaged by no reputation or validity system.

  4. 48:33 There is no such thing as a Covid vaccine. The shots that exist are only inoculations. While vaccines confer immunity, inoculation only reduces severity and duration of symptoms. I really wish that people would stop talking about a thing that does not exist.

  5. Zak, that's not what happened at that disengagement on Elon's drive. His car was going to go straight. It tried to initially but stopped at the light even though it was green because the cars in his lane on the other side of the intersection had stopped, and if he would have gone too, he would have been sticking out into the intersection and might have blocked the intersection when the cross traffic got their green. So his car waited, but his light turned red. And when the left turn light turned green, Elon's car started to go straight, but that was because the left turn light was a round green light, not an arrow (difficult to see, but possible). So Elon's car was confused by this. If the left turn signal was an arrow, the disengagement wouldn't have happened.

  6. The intervention was not a danger. It was only a misdirection that at the most would cause a small delay. It may have been looking for a short cut by moving to a parallel road with less traffic. 😊

  7. Omar's question to Elon about what Tesla to get was all about transferring FSD to the new vehicle. At the time, FSD was not available on HW4 vehicles, but now we have learned that HW4 vehicles are now getting FSD. I imagine Omar will get a 3 or Y in the next month.

  9. Look Tesla ONLY claimed it had reached a "Run Rate" of 5000 per week
    In other words, they could reach that level of production
    No one said they decided to produce up to their max production ability

  10. The Tesla FSD being just 3k lines of conventional code is insane!

    For reference, I started "coding" when I was 12 and participating in junior robotics competitions. When I was 16 or 17, I and my buddy (3 years younger) thought of a completely new approach that required complete rewrite of the code and decided to give it a shot just a couple days before departing for the world contest so that we can decide there which approach to use. One all-nighter and ~3.5k lines of code later we had it ready (with testing & bug fixing, but not optimized)…

    Huge kudos to Tesla AI team for this achievent.
