TES5 Skyrim: Genesis of Sands of Time (01) Vandolf the Nord

Vandolf was born in the now non-existent town of Oakwood in Skyrim, his parents moved to Cyrodiil and died in battle. He was taken in by a Blacksmith in basic martial skills and trained by a Hedge Wizard in basic magic. He travels to Skyrim to see the land of his birth and in the process he’ll become… a Hero? Villain? Legend? Relic Hunter? Dance Star? Nobody knows!

This play-through is running Sands of Time, Genesis, Organized Bandits, and Immersive Creatures to create a play-through that SHOULD crash and burn, if it really will? I can’t say!

  1. Thanks for uploading this. I tried to catch this playthrough on Twitch but unless it's sorted into a playlist like your previous Celril playthrough it's hard to keep track sometimes. Your playthroughs are always so enjoyable and the comedic timing of mod shenanigans and unintentional bugs are hilarious. Will be looking forward to watching this series!

  2. 41:20 thats why you turn on something like valhalla that has a perfect parry that blocks all damage and magic blocking, and maybe a ward functionalities overhaul, so you can have marginally better chances to survive with skill. :V even if you just strip it down for certain mechanics.

1:45:57 I actually use a mod for that, "train and study". Lets you "train intensely" on them at the cost of max stamina to get more xp, or you can just hit them to somewhat inefficiently get a little bit of xp per hit, or study skill books you find to get skills in those books. a good companion to that is "alternate training" that changes up the trainer mechanics so rather than just a skill level up, it gives a level but also a long lasting buff that greatly improves skill gains in that skill after the training. Pairs decently with something to normally reduce the skill up gains (like in the uncapper's configs) to then push it up and over the default amount by getting the training and stacking your well rested bonuses etc.

2:48:40 wrong destruction. lock overhaul. Ice just freezes the lock last I knew, making it easier to smash through with other means. So, frost into smash. gives it like -25 or -50 or something skill requirement malus. also I figured your twohanded would've been sufficient, but anyways.

  3. I remember trying to do a playthrough with Genesis + Sands of Time back before the Special Edition was out. I dumped probably 500+ hours into Skyrim without ever moving to the SE. I assume the performance improvements makes it the obvious choice nowadays?

  4. I really like your videos but I don't always have the time investment for the whole thing. If they were edited down to watchable episode lengths I would watch all your videos. I know that's probably a huge amount of work though. Great content, thank you!

  5. Lemme just say I didn't expect to see Relics of Hyrule in this playthrough. Such a wonderful mod, even if you're not an avid Zelda fan or a fan of The Legend of Zelda franchise at all.

I love how at 3:08:39 Zaric wipes the floor with the boss Draugr; Zaric struggled more against nearly every other enemy in the dungeon.
