Regarding the genetic health and survival of possible small cryptid populations. Small populations will increase the commonality of genetic diseases, as more individuals will get the same gene from both parents. However, such populations will also select much more severely against such diseases, precisely because more bearers of the genes will get the disease, and therefore not survive. This can lead to extinction, if no disease free lines develop in time, but can also result in a disease free, genetically homogeneous population. The latter has occurred in insular populations of both wild, feral, and domestic animals, which have been shown capable of surviving indefinitely, even in very small numbers. You'd expect all individuals to look very similar, though, while most "evidence" of cryptids show a huge variation between individuals. Several entire species show genetic evidence of having undergone this, and then recovered completely, re-developing genetic diversity (unfortunately including genetic diseases). In fact, homo sapiens sapiens is among these. Species have also gone extinct, though. The point is, "small population" is an argument, in that it reduces the likelihood, but it's not a decisive argument, in the sense of bringing the likelihood to zero, or even close to it.

I'm pretty sure more than half of sightings of mythical creatures are actually people playing tricks on us, and we actualy believe it.. Another reason why I think they are people playing pranks on us is because why haven't they attacked anyone yet? Example, there is a lot of big foot sightings, but it really also looks like people that are in the shadows where the sun isn't hitting them, so their face cannot be recognized and people will think it's bigfoot, when really it's just a person stealing your package in the front door😂
