Alaska Airlines has been ordered to ground all of its Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft after a section of a plane blew out mid-flight.
The plane departed from Portland, Oregon for Ontario, California but was forced to return to make an emergency landing.
There were reportedly 171 passengers and four flight attendants onboard with two pilots.
“Fortunately, all passengers deplaned – we are not aware of any serious injuries,” National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy said in a press conference.
“We are aware of reports of minor injuries … I imagine this was a pretty terrifying event, we don’t often talk about psychological injury but I’m sure that occurred here.”

It appears to me that Boeing and the airlines who operate the Max are paying the price for continually modifying a fifty odd year old design to do things that appear to be beyond the initial design. Boeing wanted a new single aisle jet to compete with the Airbus 320 NEO series and took the cheap way out.
It was bound to happen when people aren't hired on merit anymore. 😂

Boeing absorbs all the other U.S. airliner manufacturers and then uses that position to cut corners on quality.

I have heard in many documentaries the Boeing engineers were very concerned on the quality of all the max planes. Some even said if things are not changed at the manufacturing level these incidents will keep on rising.
It will be interesting to see what part(s) failed on that window. It might be metal failure, poor construction, etc….

Why this emergency exit door (not in use and covered by sidewall lining) is not mechanically locked, is of concern. Of course, the pressure differential at 16,000 feet is minimal, compared to a typical cruising altitude of 38,000 feet, where at this altitude, had this happened, would have been a very serious decompression.
Ah yes, history repeats itself. The Boeing 737 MAX 9 acts like a McDonnell Douglas DC-10. What will happen next to this unfortunately rushed series?

Never will I ever fly with Boeing ever again… They just don’t care about safety, quality measures for manufacturing nor taking responsibility when passengers die. Go find your door yourself! I recommend the two documentaries about the Boeing Max crashes (one used to be on prime & one on Netflix).

It was the door plug that blew out, not part of the fuselage. Probably incorrectly installed by DEI assemblers at either Boeing or one of their many suppliers.
If the press had any intelligence or aviation knowledge the question "has a door plug on any aircraft ever blown out while in flight" would have been asked. In all probability, this has zero to do with the Max aircraft. More fear mongering by clueless democrats wanting to seize more control over us.

In spite of these serious problems, even with this door plug, deciding to deplane early, air travel in USA is still very safe. You have fewer chances of dying from flying, than from mass shootings.
There the problem is fixed.
Well if there is a positive about this incident it is very very lucky that the aircraft was at a relatively low altitude and speed climbing to its cruise altitude because the scenario would be quite different if that emergency door blew out at say 38,000 feet fully pressurised and at say 900 kmph as the explosive decompression would have no doubt a disintergration of the whole aircraft and fatal to every person in it! Destruction would have been complete! All anyone has to do is research exactly the outcome of a similar total loss of pressurisation to an airliner in just this situation and this exact thing happened to the very first Jet Airliner that went into service back in the early 1950’s with the British De-Havilland Comet jetliner when back in those days they did not realise that the airframe was too lightly constructed around a window when the constant pressurisation and depressurisation for take off and landing resulted in metal fatigue until multiple fatal accudents resulted in the aircraft breaking up in the air with a everyone on board! This is really an extremely serious situation for Boeing to be in and I would want total assurance that this could not happen again and be totally fail safe before I would step on board a Max 9!
I reckon Boeing should change the Max 9’s name to “Comet nine” as a salutation to the first jetliner to enter service in the early fifties that broke up in the air thru explosive decompression!

Incorrect news as usual. If it was mid flight lives would have been lost maybe even the whole plane. It was still climbing when this happened.
Imagine there has to have been one or more that walked onto the plane knowing it’s history, mybe felt a bit of anxiety, then the fricking wall rips open 😳
American Airlines have NOW been forced to ground all it's aircraft…American Airlines Engineers found at the Christmas Party that several of the female cabin crew had at least six inch cracks in them….American Airlines Engineers are confident that they can fix the problem with panty liners and duct tape once stirrups are fitted to the cabin crews seats:))
