We start the day very early, have breakfast at our hotel the Holiday Inn Express Xian Bell Tower then get a taxi (DiDi) from outside to take us to the Terracotta Warriors.

It takes a little over an hour to get from Xian to the Terracotta Warriors by taxi and once we arrive we spare no time entering the attraction.

To save a little time we hop on a golf cart for a small fee for a journey that will take us to the main gate, this way we can beat the initial traffic to Pit 1.

Pit 1 is the main location of the Terracotta Warriors and it is where they were first discovered back in 1974, there are 1000’s of Terracotta Warriors housed in this building that is the size of an aircraft hanger.

We then continued to walk around Emperor Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum Site by visiting Pit 3 next,. Pit 3 is thought to be the command centre and even contains some horses.

Finally we visit Pit 2, this pit contains a lot of archers and the majority of it is still being excavated.

After we finished in the pits we got an ice cream and then headed by bus to the mausuleum section. here we got another golf cart to transport us around and even passed the Emperor’s Tomb beneath a large earth mound shaped like a pyramid. The highlight in this area was the Bronze Chariots and Horses.

After spending hours at the Terracotta Warriors we caught another taxi to take us back into Xi’an.

That evening we visited the Muslim Quarter again for dinner and enjoyed a wide selection of Chinese street food.

  3. There is no real original carriage. In fact, it has become many pieces for the age. What's on display is a reconstructions from fragments, so it's called a replica. But it's not an imitation. Enjoy your trip! ❤

  10. I've ever visited to the Terracotta Warriors. The amazing part is the visiting is not just walking around to see those statues, but to listen to introduction of those guider about the stories, such as how those statues become "complete" when the dug ones are scramble into very small piece, or stories about the crafts are all killed by that emperor as mortuary objects. You should found a lot of groups over there with guider to explain. The explanation costs most of the time of the touring.
