On June 2, 2024, 16-year-old Aariah Henry was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in Reserve, Louisiana. Aariah, a 10th-grade student at East St. John High School, had reportedly sneaked out to attend a party with friends. While returning home, the vehicle she was in, carrying six people, was ambushed by unknown assailants who fired multiple shots into the car. Aariah was struck and later succumbed to her injuries at St. James Hospital.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the shooting, appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the perpetrators. Despite these efforts, the case remains unsolved, and authorities have offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
The community has been deeply affected by Aariah’s death, with family and friends mourning the loss of a young life taken too soon. Several YouTube videos have been created to raise awareness about the case and to encourage anyone with information to come forward.
