Teen charged as adult in death of 2-year-old hit during shooting outside IHOP

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with first-degree murder six months after a 2-year-old child was fatally shot in an IHOP parking lot, according to the Federal Way Police Department (FWPD). He will be charged as an adult.

Jayson Jack, who was also charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, was arrestedat his Federal Way residence Wednesday after months of investigation, said FWPD Commander Kyle Buchanan in a release.

The toddler, Synsyr Lewis, was struck by a bullet after prosecutors said Jack fired 15 rounds into the child’s father’s car outside the IHOP on the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive in Federal Way on April 4. Synsyr later died at Harborview Medical Center.

  1. Same thing all over the country over and over. The complete and total lack of respect for life displayed by these young black males towards each other is nothing short of astonishing and this is the byproduct of it…innocent people getting shot when they lose their temper and start shooting and killing each other because they have zero ability to control their emotions and are prone to violence. Why is it not ok to talk about it? That's the only solution to any problem is to call it out for what it is.
