Tears Of The Kingdom's World Is Bigger Than We Thought…

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a very big open world game, but when you consider the lore and certain details, there might be more to the size of Hyrule than we initially thought.

  1. I know it's impossible but just imagine if they didn't "close" the edges of the map of the depths. And as you explore further and further you slowly realize that you are past the limits of Hyrule, only to go back to the surface and find yourself on a totally unknow island or at the summit of the great cliff the game doesn't normally let you approach.
The feeling of being in wild lands again.

  2. Hopefully a TOTK sequel takes place in an entirely new place. They could even have a prequel with a sizeable map. With even more powerful hardware likely before another one gets made, they could just expand the existing map outward instead of up and down.

  3. Ganon doesnt't have to have a reach outside of Hyrule for other monsters to exist. Monsters existed before him as shown by Skyward Sword, and like the locations in other games (Spirit Tracks, Phantom Hourglass, Oracle titles, and Termina) we've seen many monatwea outside of Hyrule. I don't think BotW or TotK ever states he creates monsters, just that he is able to bring them back to life via Blood Moons. He's the Demon King not a God.

  4. BotW also clearly shows there is land beyond Hyrule, whats on it now is unknown but its there none the less. I don't think this has been in question in the community, I highly doubt there's anything above the Islands we see because the only reason those Island's haven't been seen previously is the cloud barrier (where you see clouds or not). Whereas you'd have to invent the concept of another barrier precenting us seeing the next layer above that which seems a little too convoluted to me. Its also clear that the islands are the home of the old Zonai, they;re just now all dead, and the buildings are in ruins. The only reason the Temple of Time, the spheres and the Sky Labyrinths are in a less ruined sate is because they were risen later by the Sages after the Imprisoning War.

  5. Although I believe they could get away with doing the next game with this same Link and Zleda (same artstyle, same traits, exact same people) ; admittedly i think it would be a mistake to leave this version of the pirncess behind as she is so damn popular…..I do think they need to leave this world behind- we should get a new land to explore.

  6. Things I am done with…

Time hopping – Can we just stay in this Link and Zelda for another game or 2?
Shrines – Yeah, they were fun, but having to do 130 of them?? After doing 120 in BOTW? Then more shrines in the DLC? Just stop with shrines already. Just give us more complex dungeons with shrine elements.
Sage ghosts – You’re ruining my game. BOTW had it right with accessing the abilities without an annoying phantom getting in your way.
Starting from scratch – Don’t nerf Link, I earned that stamina wheel and those hearts.
Ganon – He’s dead. Let’s let him rest at least one sequel

  7. I really hope that the next one happens in another kingdom in the same world, that it will have more temples and less shrines. Also that the weapons are much more durable

  8. i want a game where we go to another area! i, as well, was really inspired by yona when she said she was from another domain. it got me thinking we could have some kinda of subnautica-style zelda game.

  9. I think Nintendo will create it, however they want to create it. It would be cool to have an expansion pack or DLC that goes beyond Hyrule. But at the same time I think it would be very cool to have or have to battle dark link or shadow link. Basically yourself that mimics all the moves that you do in the depths. But they could do a DLC that sets up something for the future. Or with the next legend of Zelda game that could just go in the completely different way. And what I mean by that is they could do a top down 2D game. And then somehow explain the history again. And how it all connects. And then do a great 3D game again. But the map wouldn't look anything like that. But what I'm really hoping for is shadow link or dark link or whatever and the depths in the DLC. I wouldn't mind some water levels even though I abhor them. But that would be cool. And if they want to do something like the Witcher 3 did where we always had to explore other lands. For an extra 25 hours or something like that of gameplay. I won't be opposed to that either. But I think Nintendo somewhat thinks they know what they're doing and they know their consumer base. But I could be wrong.

  10. totally tangential but triggered by your video… has anyone captured and transported a Dondon back to their house to keep as a pet? They look like good pets (and they poop gems, right? 🙂

  11. i think theres an underwater zora city that we havent seen yet because these games dont have underwater exploration, i have been saying that these games will become a trilogy and the third game will be about the triforce

  12. Obviously there are more lands outside of hyrule and other kindsoms. It wouldn't make sense if it wasn't. Hyrule is on a planet and it's a game so everything can't be explored. Hopefully in future Zelda games we can explore other lands and kingdoms.

  13. Actually the TOTK map is not Modeled after the map from Zelda 1. if you look closely you can actually see that the upper right corner of the TOTK map almost lines up perfectly with the Zelda 2 map.

  14. Imagine if the first DLC mission is to create a space ship that you need to launch into space and then you visit the moon and find more zonai ruins (the TotK sky type).

  15. One thing I find interesting is that in Breath of the Wild, when you get to the edge of the Gerudo Desert, it appears to continue on as infinite desert. However, in Tears of the kingdom, it now appears to end and turn into ocean. I think this is strong evidence to suggest that there will be some kind of dlc map expansion across that sea at the bottom of the map

  16. I'm not sure if you missed it, but I believe Yona's in-game character description states that she comes from another Zora's Domain. Likewise, in one of the cutscenes Rauru mentions another Gerudo town.

  17. This game is such a letdown! What a damn shame! BoTW put the series back on track, when I thought Nintendo had finally fixed this series TotK just shattered all my dreams. Zelda is not about “abilities” and “physics”. This game bloated, full of uninteresting and unexciting things. The boss battles in the dungeons are laughable and the dungeons themselves are bad designed and easy. I think I have to move on from Zelda. So said that what Botw started was not accomplished in TotK. Said.

  18. When you comapare amount of work they put on the BOTW with TOTK you will realize that sky and depths are made from recycled ♻️ assets, I'm really enjoying the game but In my opinion sky + depths + caves is less than original hyrule world

  19. As much as I love this game I really hope for something new with the next game! I think we’ve gotten enough of this version of hyrule for now. Between two games that are 100+ hours.

  20. Tinfoil theory : The zonai came from the Moon and they left for Hyrule when the Moon was overrun by monsters from outerspace (all the blin derivate from warhammer 40k's orcs) that why the Moon is associate with the apparition of monsters, they are teleported from it.
And in the the next zelda, link will reach the Moon with a spacecraft made of zonai devices to purge the heresy… I mean to purge the Moon from the monsters.

  21. Could be that “this domain” is just referencing the domain they are currently in – if you’re on a farm you might reference it as “this farm” without referencing it in relation to another farm. I like your theory just throwing some skepticism in there.
