Teaching Arena Zoomers About STAX | Against the Odds | Historic Magic: the Gathering (MTG)

The Brothers’ War unleashed several iconic Stax pieces on Magic Arena. Let’s see how many we can stax up and teach some Arena zoomers what it’s like to NOT be able to play Magic!

Today’s video is brought to you by Card Kingdom. You can pick up some MTG cards (and help support the show) at https://www.cardkingdom.com/mtggoldfish

  1. Dear Mr. Goldfish, the game is rigged at our disadvantage if one doesn't buy anything on mtga, for a certain period of time and when we do, the odds turn more into our favor. Many pro players have found that mtga is rigged. Would you make a clip or episode explaining that? why so many players still gaslight themselves about MTGA being not-rigged?

  3. hey, this deck could be more consistent on it's ramp plan, brought back can do the thing with lotus, but it also can do that with fetch effect, fabled passage is the only good fetch we have but lotr bring us shire terrace wich is good with eldrazi displacer, maybe it's playable, let's see if i need one drop or if i can go with a challice build

    let's teach !

  4. Man, having watched these games. Stax feels much less heinous in standard. I’m a commander zoomer, so stax is more of a warcrime in our group. Imagine playing against this, except you have to wait 20 turns to die while your opponents dig through their 100 card library to find their one win con.

  5. The Heliod thing would work if off his devotion was greater than 5 when Heliod re enters. when it was removed it became drops 4 and it becomes a regular enchantment meaning containment priest doesn’t effect it

  6. I'm not a fan of Stax, I've been locked out of the game under the oppressive weight of it on several commander games. But watching UW Control get crushed by Stax. This…this does put a smile on my face.

  7. The emotes in Arena are actually useless, there is no way to use them without it coming across as rude. I used to use "Good Game" and "Hello" as a kind of "good luck and have fun", but one time my opponent got super tilted even by this, and spent the whole game spamming emotes and slow-playing, so I turned them off completely. How do you mess up such a simple and basic feature so totally? WotC are truly inept.
