  1. unfortunately Votann are absolutely trash now. The fact that hearthguard are the "best unit" in their army is just proof by itself they are worse than deathguard. I can name a bunch of units that are better than the hearthguard in Deathguard: Typhus with Deathshroud termies, Plague surgeon with plague marines, Foul blightspawn wtih plague marines, Fetid Bloat Drones, and Myphitic Blight Haulers. There is no way deathguard don't have a better roster and most of Votann's army rules can basically be outplayed by not finishing off units except with your weak units so only they get JTs, or hiding your target of your grudge behind obscuring terrain.

  2. As someone who plays both these armies, this was a completely misleading battle report because you intentionally took a ridiculously weak Tau list because you knew just how bad the Votann data sheets are. Honestly, you should be reflecting the reality of the situation rather than dressing up what is objectively a terrible set data sheets and potentially misleading players (and them spending money only to be disappointed).

  3. At 49 minutes my guy realizes all the issues Votann is about to have, can barely kill anything, magna rail is ass now, 24 inches for almost all guns, going to get eaten by rangier armies and tore to shit by melee armies since we have to move up to shoot.

  4. At 2:30~ he charged your riptide and ethereal, but rolled high enough that he would be able to get into base contact, but they can’t end a move middle of the wall, wouldn’t they NOT be able to engage the ethereal becUse the wall and the basing rule?

  6. You guys knew GW was moving to static unit sizes and free wargear ahead of time but hid it just like GW did because you knew it’d be unpopular. “Influencers” desperate to not alienate the parent corporation from early access. You guys have staked a lot of time and money into a game that now just plain sucks. Baby’s first miniature game where all meaningful choices are either gone, already made for you, or GW created a huge sign pointing you toward the preconceived “expert gamer” combos. This is just sad.

what a game, but i need to point out how terrible riptides are this edition, i wanna try field pirhanas, they are so good this time around, its not even funny, not op, but very, very good.

  8. I know this was shot before points were released, but I think most Knights lists I've seen have moved to 3 big 5 small rather than 3 big 4 small because the points just work out that way. You could do 4 big and like… 2-3 small (depending on enhancements and such) for Chaos Knights, but with Imperial Knights you'd be missing out on so many good buffs if you don't have enough Armigers for a 1:1 buffing ratio. Since you're buffing the knights now, it's much more important for your Errant to have Assault or your Warden to have -1 dmg, so if they don't have an Armiger to buff, it really hurts them. But it definitely hurts some more than others… a Preceptor is not as hurt if there's no one for him to buff, and obviously Canis Rex can't buff an Armiger, so if your 4th is one of those, it's not so bad.

  9. When shooting the riptide and skyray you should have switched which was guiding and observing. The skyray has markerlights so would have given them both ignores cover with 'Cordinate and Engage'

  10. The massacred the Votann in the index man, it's not lookin good for the squats hahah. I dont know who decided that they needed to have two judgement tokens on something in order to have passable shooting but they clearly made a mistake.

  11. 56:ish, you were talking about audio. I watched the admech/knights video on a different machine than normal (my 2 main armies, I watched on my big screen tv through an xbox app), and I finally heard the noise that gets talked about. background being important, I worked in radio production for 7 years (albeit about a decade ago), so I have a little bit of background, though your tech is advanced from what I used by a long shot.

All that being said, it seemed to me to be feedback in the rare instances that your lathe mics are pointed at one another. specifically if someone were, say, bending over the table, so the clips shifted with the clothes, and pointed in a different direction.

ALL THAT BEING SAID: having some background in this, with your setup, and the fact that you are always mobile, and you're running 3-4 (5? 6?) mics in the same room… I'm impressed you have as few and as minor of problems as you do. well done.
