According to this video Taiwan's situation is dire but for anyone that follows international relations in the far east they would have known this was coming. For the Taiwanese its as if they've been sleepwalking into disaster because their efforts at defense have been pathetically insufficient and worse I think they expect the US to protect them. If they are to survive the coming crisis they should be on a crash program to militarize the entire island but I don't see anything like that happening. Small nations can survive against colossal threats like the communists in China but they have to spend everything they've got and then some to do it. I can see Taiwan falling in a few years because of this apathy. Japan should be Taiwan's biggest supporter but because of their constitution they have neutered themselves and even South Korea is occupied with a major threat on its own doorstep.

There is no need to “engage the seventh fleet against China to defend Taiwan” below I have a lower risk way:
I recommend the following preemptive actions:
1) us attack submarines locate every offensive nuclear capable Chinese submarine and trail it and be ready to destroy it within 60 minutes
2) stealthily “park“ UStrident nuclear SLBm capable submarines close off the shore in the pacific nearest to China. Have them ready to destroy Chinese ICBM silos within 30 minutes
3) then without firing a shot, blockade all oil tankers heading to China at the strait of Hormuz using the United States fifth fleet. Simply turn them back or force them to anchor. The Chinese navy does not extend that far west and should not pose a threat but if they do the attack subs are ready anyway
Within six months China will be completely inert chocked and Winnie the Pooh and company, gone. if they attempt a launch or we think that’s iminent, we simply destroy all their submarines and forward offensive capability in silos and in the water.

Remember that Mao's forces killed 80 million people in order to steal the country and the legitimate government under Lee Kwan Yu retreated to Taiwan and has since then remained in exile while the theives controlling the occupied territory of mainland China killed another 30 million people in the famine that they caused by stealing the farms and failing to produce because they had no understanding of farming.
The rest of the world has made a terrible mistake in recognising the theives as a legitimate government and have fuelled their arms build up in exactly the same way that they fuelled Germany's arms build up in the 20's.
