Tadamon massacre: hidden war crimes in Syria

This is the story of a war crime by one of the Syrian regime’s most notorious enforcers, branch 227 of the country’s military intelligence service.

Newly released footage obtained by the Guardian shows a massacre, which was committed in the southern suburbs of Damascus in April 2013; groups of civilians rounded up, blindfolded, handcuffed and marched towards an execution pit unaware they are about to be shot dead.

When the killings were over, at least 41 men lay dead in the mass grave in Tadamon, their murderers pouring fuel on their remains and igniting them, laughing as they covered up a war crime just several miles from Bashar al-Assad’s seat of power.

This graphic footage is “one of the most indictable videos from the whole Syrian conflict” and “gives us a glimpse into a previously untold part of the 10-year war”, as the Guardian’s Martin Chulov explains

  2. If I had the power to launch the most powerful nuclear weapons at Syria and Yemen, I would do it. It would spare millions of people from endless torture and pain. Pain like nothing any of us has experienced before.

  4. I live in germany since 2015 with no full asylum right, but subsidiary protection only, because the german government claims that damascus where I escaped from is safe!
I have always believed that the syrian regime is able to do more than that. The whole world knows this fact.

  5. I am from Syria 😭 Bashar al-Assad and his criminal family have killed my brothers, cousins, many of my relatives and many innocent Syrians and children, and there are entire families who were killed under the rubble of the buildings that were downloaded because of the bombing of the planes, and Bashar al-Assad is still killing us, he killed children mercilessly, and this crime is not alone. There are thousands of crimes The atrocity committed by Bashar al-Assad, Russia 🇷🇺 and Iran 🇮🇷 but the flags do not show all the crimes they committed. They should be punished. Save us. Save us. Save us. These criminals. Save us😭😭😭💔

  6. I would say this. In this video I see a man shooting a gun and another man running away. I don’t see a man shorting another man. When you STOP censoring what I am able to see and expecting me to take your edits at face value then you might get my support but until then you won’t. Show everything warts and all.

  8. This is only the tip of the iceberg.
I'm not sure about the rest of the regions but I can confidently say this scene was repeated alot in my city Deir Ezzor, especially during the republican guard campaign in 2012 where they brutally massacred over 400 civilians.
I had a friend who lost 5 family members,
They were executed on the spot, he was lucky enough to be away at the time.
they did alot of horrendous atrocities,
In one instance they threw bakery workers in their own oven, some were cut with blades.
I assume they were told to execute anyone they have the slightest doubt about.
Some where executed simply for glimpsing off the window.
I was lucky I lived across a retired high ranking officer so they went easy on my ally.
