What a great match. Fred and Bruno were excellent. It was great seeing Fred playing higher up so Bruno could drop deep and get on the ball. Honestly, the more Bruno touches the ball, the better
When you mentioned content defending in a 5-3-2 I knew that was a problem instantly. A 5 at the back formation like that only protects the middle heavily but the wings are very much open. He should have dropped it to a 5-4-1 that could have been more effective.
The Tottenham and Arsenal games have been our 2 best performances by a mile, with Eriksen on the pitch, it would've been a rout.

People like to forget De Gea had pretty good distribution in his earlier United and Atletico days, probably saw it best in the LVG era. Other managers like Moyes, Jose and Ole never wanted him to be an Ederson type keeper because they didn't need it for their styles of play. Hell even SAF didn't really care for his distribution because it wasn't nearly as essential for a keeper to be really good on the ball in the early 2010's as it is now.
We are now 9 points down cos of EtH in-game management. EtH didn't make enough substitutions to change the game to our advantage so we lost 2 point today!

Wingers are not getting to the bye line to pass into the dangerous areas so starves our forward line from chances to win the game!
At the moment we have the lazy type of wingers who doesn't use their weaker foot enough so prevents opportunities of winning the game so Ronaldo & any main strikers will suffer, EtH have to sort it out!

I would commend Ten Hag's tactics, as I would condemn Conte's utterly stupid tactics to expect the likes of Bentancur to do, persistently, passing from their own box.

All this possible cuz Ronaldo was on the bench. With Ronaldo on the field, everyone would be obligated to feed him the ball, instead of playing tactical game. And with Ronaldo playing no pressing on opposite field, Man U defense would suffer.
