Written for my Father on Father’s Day 2023. A short, one-movement-long, Contemporary piece that plays into the terrors of Putin’s war. Arrhythmic and Cacophonistic is the fighting. Drums are guns as Shostakovich might have imagined. The triangle is Putin’s sonic assassination as Prokofiev may have incited. And the silence at the end is for those on both sides who are currently dying and have died. God bless and Slava Ukraine. Fuck Putin.
