The ABC is welcoming the New Year with its hotly-anticipated NYE 2023 concert and fireworks celebration, airing on Sunday 31 December from 8:30pm.
In partnership with the City of Sydney, the world-famous fireworks display will light up the city’s famous skyline, bidding a sparkling farewell to 2023 and welcoming in the New Year.

The only time you'd catch me watching ABC. The lead up trash was confirmation of this. The sooner you are defunded and made into a subscription service the better

ABC I hope you're reading all the comments here about how woeful the choice of music was. Pass it on. Fireworks were amazing, music trash! Proceed to watch London's actual party vibe NYE fireworks and their choice of music and make some adjustments. Our fireworks are always the best in the world but they are nothing without a great soundtrack.
Maybe I'm just too used to watching Sydney NYE fireworks, but this was underwhelming for me. There was nothing excitingly new or different in the fireworks or lighting. The music was particularly uninspiringly insipid. It felt like the bland outcome of a committee, without anyone aiming for creative brilliance. There was no message? What a boring let-down.
That was amazing, well done organisers. Tiny sparks, they multiply, exploding stars to paint the sky.. Nice song. 😀
