SWFL Eagles Nest: Dad to the rescue!

Feeding attempts by mom aren’t going so well. E23 pecks mom’s beak to tell her “feed me!” Poor F23 is trying, but she’s not trying very often. Practice, practice, practice….F23 needs to make more attempts instead of ignoring E23.

Finally! M15 to the rescue! Head low and beak turned sideways to give the perfect baby size bite every time! F23 wasn’t interested in watching, she’s trying to feed M15🤣

E23 has a lot of peekaboo time, and biting at mom’s feathers.

F23 has an ant crawling on her, I zoom in to watch the ant. F23 feels it on her back and takes action! It is truly amazing she can feel that tiny ant crawling on her feathers!

Such an adorable family! Come on, mom, practice more often! You got this!

  1. Luckily for E23, M15 has had previous experiences in feeding young eaglets, otherwise, E23 would go hungry since F23 is hardly trying to. M15 is getting a break since it is only one eaglet he has to worry about feeding. I'm sure he will have an eye out for this chick to make sure it is getting the nutrients needed for a healthy eaglet. This way if F23 gets a little lazy in feeding her chick M15 will fill in the gap. His last two eaglets he raised himself are a testament to his caring and made sure they were kept fed even in spite of all his visitors and raids by some other visitors.

  2. Watched this famiily from the start.. Agree, although sad, glad the second Egg didn't hatch ! F23 gets the food, but just can't quite get her beak to E23 ! s/he really tries……looking at this chick, It's very upright and strong ! looks around, and follows Mum….I'm sure she will do better today! Thank you for the clip
