This is build of Project Zomboid Build 41. Included in Build 41 are extensive updates to the animations in the game, a new clothing system that includes many new outfits that grant extra protections, and a number of new weapons and items to expand the gameplay.

Project Zomboid is the ultimate in zombie survival. Alone or in MP: you loot, build, craft, fight, farm and fish in a struggle to survive. A haradcore RPG skillset, a vast map, a massively customisable sandbox and a cute tutorial raccoon await the unwary. So how will you die?

  1. Sound travels through Y levels the same way it does X levels. The zombies are finding their way up because you’re making noise while murdering zombies on the catwalk, whilst there are zombies “right next to you” on the lower floor that then slowly make their way up whilst you go off about your day. So say the sound of bashing a zombies skull in will travel, for example, five tiles across on your level, it will also travel across those same five tiles on the floors above and below. I think Rentanaru (I think that’s how you spell it) did a video explaining it with generators. Hope this helps in the future, keep up the great work 🙂

  2. I second that you should close doors more :-p

But also, wouldn't it be more effective to put bookshelves and tall close backed shelves in front of those big nonsense windows, to block line of sight as well as barricade?

  3. Is the weapon leveling thing in the vanilla game or is it a mod? I can’t find anything about it online. I’m talking about the “my weapon feels different” notifications.

  4. Would it be worthwhile to "barricade" the entrances with bookcases and shelves instead of planks for now? And maybe focus on chokepoints (stairs, interior store entrances – like the entrance from the grocery store into the mall instead of outside) instead of all the exterior windows

  5. Your constant running is what is drawing the zombies to you from below. The only way to practically reduce the sound, is to walk or preferably sneak around when inside your base. Another option is to remove the ability for them to come up to you.

  6. You'll never barricade alll those windows, you'd be better off putting fridges at the top of the stairs to at least keep the Z's on the lower level.
