  1. I used to work in Fleet Street which was the home of all the UKs National Newspapers. I worked for all of them, which were many, back in the 70s and 80s. I have so many stories of all the weird and wonderful things that went on in those places. I always worked there on a Saturday night, when they was printing and getting out the massive Sunday newspapers, which came with various supplements and magazines. They were shipped all over the UK during the night on mail trains. If you were a delivery boy on a Sunday morning delivering those newspapers to peoples homes it was hard work as they were massive and heavy, and called 'broadsheets' as opposed to the weekly tabloids. The River Fleet flows under London, as do many other ancient hidden rivers. When in London go down ALL the various alleyways and tiny side streets as you will be surprised by what you find! If you want to know about ALL the interesting horror, rock related, movie star and other weird history of London, check out the hundreds of videos on the 'Joolz Guides' You Tube channel. He is quite a character and knows so much, and so many people in London, a lot of it movie or band related! Did you see Johnny Depp was in Ireland yesterday doing a reading in the church for the funeral of The Pogues singer, Shane McGowan ( The Fairytale of New York ) The body parts being dished up in meat pies is true!! The p i s s and vomit you smelt down that alley was from drunks taking a pee or throwing up after spending the evening drinking in an old tavern or pub! It is impossible to EVER get bored in London, or in fact anywhere else across the UK, as there is literally some mazing mindblowing history around every corner, as you know know. Who needs drink or drugs in England as you can get your mind blown just taking a walk!! Always look up too, as a lot of history is right up there, staring down at you from the past! The Temple area just above Fleet Street on the map is where the ancient Knights Templars church is from the Da Vinci Code movie. Happy Halloween and soon Christmas! Now go into a London pub or tavern and enjoy that soft drink and 'meat' pie! "Make no bones about it!" Sometimes it can make your flesh creep!! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ–คโ˜ ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ–คโ˜ ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ–คโ˜ ๐Ÿ–ค

Wow this is surprising about Sweeney Todd and the legendary history about it and a place that probably have inspired the director and producer to make the film of Sweeney Todd never knew that it was actually based on a true crime mystery love that Johnny Deep played the character well as it is I absolutely love Johnny Deep he also did Sleepy Hallow and Pirates Of The Caribbean overall the film of Sweeney Todd was an iconic classic

  4. did you see right next to that sign that said, "Demon barber of fleet street." There was a hamburger advertisement. How fitting. At one time, barbers were considered sergions. That red and white swirly pole, stood for blood and bandages.

  5. My local hairdressers is called Sweeny Todd's. And it's joined onto a butchers shop. Lol The butcher had a little extra building on the side of his butchers shop that he didn't use. So he rented it out to some hairdressers and they named it Sweeny Todd. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Tim Burton is when I first herd about Sweeney Todd. Itโ€™s still one of
my favorite Tim Burton films and Johnny Depp was sexy in here. I still get goosebumps whenever I watch the trailer. I even heard that there are people believing that Sweeney Todd existed.

  8. The dragon (or Griffin as some call it) you pointed out is called Monument to Temple Bar. It stands on the site of the original gates into the City of London, the 1 square mile. There were lots of gates all over the square mile; Algate, Bishopsgate, Cripplegate etc – but this one is pretty special as it was sold to a private landowner and stood as the entrance to his house in Theobalds Park Enfield. When that landowner died, his house went into decay and was eventually pulled down, but the gate remained. In 1984 the City of London trust bought it back for ยฃ1, cleaned it up and it now sits proudly in Paternoster Square by St. Pauls Cathedral. To this day the reigning monarch, if travelling into the City, stops at Monument to Temple Bar and asks for the keys and permission to enter the City from the Lord Mayor of the City of London (different position to the Lord Mayor of London). You'll see these dragons all over the border to the City around the 1 square mile. Excellent video as ALWAYS! I used to do this story and locations when I was a tour guide of London. Fleet Street as a whole is fascinating – so much history there, even the inspiration of the modern wedding cake! Thanks for always giving us great vids guys! x

  11. A few things:
    1. this is one of the few musicals I would love too see on stage. ( which I did pick up a fridge magnet that featured Josh Groban as Sweeney and Annaleigh Ashford as Mrs. Lovett from the recent Broadway revival while I was visiting NewYork a few weeks ago. I stopped at a shop that sold all kinds of Broadway stuff. I also picked up a fridge magnet for Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS and another Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along.)
    2. I'm surprised Paramount and Warner Bros haven't released a 4k version of the film yet because how can you not look at one of the movie's and not say this screams 4k.
    That all said great video.
