Suspect shot, killed man while checking his mail in Arizona, police say

Police say a suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in a Chandler neighborhood has been arrested.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting just before 5 p.m. on April 3 near Hunt Highway and Cooper Road and found a 58-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was not identified.

“He was in his vehicle with his wife and had stopped to check their mail when confronted by the suspect, who opened fire on them,” police said.

The victim’s wife was not hurt and dialed 911.

The suspect, 31-year-old Channing Vanderbilt, stayed at the scene and was “behaving as a bystander” when police arrived. He was arrested. Police said Vanderbilt lives near where the shooting took place.

Police said officers responded to a call nearby earlier the same day after a resident reported that someone had shot at his block wall. There were no witnesses to the shooting and no evidence was found, but investigators are working to determine if it is related to the deadly shooting.

  1. And to think, skrong, totally independent black women have spent the last 50 plus years completely falsely claiming that they can raise children better all by themselves without a man while crimes against clergy, mass-fratricide, mass-incarceration, follow home robberies, child sexting, etc have gone right through the ceiling during exactly the same period!

  2. blacks are taught to hate us from every facet of power, 24-7. it's no wonder they are starting to take that hatred to its logical conclusion. couple the propaganda with their low I.Q.s and low impulse control and it's quite the powder keg, ain't it?

  3. It's something every day in this country, somebody somewhere killing someone for nothing, I see stories from newscast on YouTube everyday. Yesterday a man died on the subway tracks after being pushed by someone else in Baltimore
