Woo!
I'm assuming wander figures this out later on in the video (only 23 mins in), but it amazes me with all the games he's played he doesn't recognize from the beginning that the town is marked on the compass.
An actual bartering system huh? That's neat
I was SCREAMING internally that you needed to follow the marker on the compass to find the town 😂😂
How does this stack up to Craftopia? Craftopia has a ton of game mechanics. I wish the dev luck in giving their game a unique twist
I had problems with searching this game on steam – It's ,,Oppidum,,
I love the fact that the compass is precise. In all the games I've played in the past, even those that were about exploration, like Subnautica etc., the compass was completely useless for charting.
This game looks super fun! also kind of like a zelda-ish adventure game, which is always enjoyable if done right
If we make the player run across the map repeatedly they'll feel like the world is super large! Worst game dev mentality.
I feel like I see a wave of games like this that all look like the same underlying game with slightly different visuals and slightly different features. Feels like lazy game development honestly and that the market will tire of it when folk realize they’re being fed the same game over and over
“The stone hatchet isn’t enough to cut down a tree?”
No, finally a game is doing things right. It would be pretty difficult to cut down a tree in real life using a hatchet head made of stone. It’s a nice starter material in fantasy games for the sake of progression, but something like that IRL is only good for shrubs and other short, skinny-trunked wood-providing plants.
did someone say opium ?
the town is marked use the compasss
