Is Brexit Safe?
You are watching post-peak capitalism devouring itself. Dwindling returns means lowering standards to maintain 'growth'. This has been going on in the US for years, the Ohio train derailment is a perfect example. Race to the bottom.
2 beards, 2 non beards, 2 Guitars v 5 Guitars…
Hail hail the lava lamp 🌋🏮 didn't get notified 🤔🤔so hi from the naughty step
Now on catch up
Mike Graham reminds me of a Mel Smith (Not The Nine O'Clock News etc) character 🤔.
Why does Starmer refer to his Political Party as 'Labour' when it is 'New Labour' as it was redefined by Blair? Many people are leaving 'New Labour' because it has been mis represented as 'Labour'. This disappoints those who want to be members of or support a 'Labour Party'. No one likes to be gaslighted.
Truth to Power nailed it. Complacency is death.
Nobody can afford a house in Britain because the housing bubble props up the economy? Nothing to do with having a home to live in as being a basic human need and a or fundamental human right?? It is all driven by greed and growth? If you don't own a home in Britain you are irrelevant and therefore, have less rights? This all making life very difficult and challenging for so many people?! It is despicable and backwards?!
Just watched a 'short' featuring Dominic Grieve telling his former colleagues how undemocratic & anti UK that they have been with their 'hard' Brexit.
I thought it was "cheap as chips"? Not heard cheap as chalk as an expression.
There's no Tory war chest. They're broke
Farm stores are too far away & I know of none locally that deliver.
Pity the Council Official and volunteer who has to stop a person turning up to vote. The Tories have been warned, that they face a tsunami of legal challenges , as political parties at Polling Stations will be counting those that are refused a vote. This will be costly and plunge the government into a legal maelstrom. It is also reported that many people who are turned away – then come back to vote, will be angry (justifiably so) and they'll take it out on the Tories. It could actually blow up in the face of the Tories.
Same in France. Loads of tomatoes in supermarkets!
Surely it's not beyond the wit of man, what do working people want/need:-
1. Reliable functioning public services
2. Reliable functioning public health service
3. Affordable national energy services
Now those 3 starting points do not need a great deal of explanation….because working know what is working and what is not.
I came to England in the early 70s and I was appalled at the beaches, not even wanting to walk on the sand!
The UK is relying on Local Authorities to find the funds to produce Photo voting ID but individuals need to find the funds to produce a current Photo. Many Local Authorities cannot afford to provide adequate social support & many individuals cannot afford to heat their homes (if they have a roof over their heads) or to feed their children or to pay for medical appliances/support. The Photo ID was supposed to be available in June 2022. How many Local Authorities can make this document available even now? I was promised a call back on this subject & am still waiting. On my initial call to my local authority the receptionist had to query a specific department because there was nothing regarding this matter on the computer system.
Thank you.
Please could you put on an option to stop the moving coffee beans: I find it really distracting
State ownership will be used to lower costs and rebuild infrastructure. At a certain point the lobbyists will convince the politicians that 'privatization' will make things more efficient. I.E. it will put more money into pockets more easily. Stockholders, executives, and politicians of course.
Hi from the Netherlands, a small sovereign nation within the EU!
Markets are not and never will be a silver bullet. There is a place for public services. This single factor alone should disbar the Tories from ever governing again.
another reason your imported veg is going off quicker – the quality stuff is distributed around the single market & we're sending you the dregs as the UK government still hasn't set up its checks, think it's been put off for the 4th time now….hold onto your hats when that actually happens! (love France Xxx)
In the Netherlands we have a "identiteidsplicht" , which means that you have to be able to identify yourself in the public space. That means we have to take identification when we vote. Our ID cards are cheaper than a passport, and the unwaged can get the card a lot cheaper. Oh and Brexit can't be made to work…and Jeremy also lost the election on his Brexit stance.
Thank you for inviting me guys, a real honour. ❤
Reminds me of a common saying I see.
Where the left wing is doing witch hunts in their ranks and attacking each other.
The right wing is out recruiting as many people as they can.
Note at 15:05, none of these four can suggest anything detailed that Starmer should be flagshipping to build a platform sturdy enough not to be blown away in a puff when the Tory election machine gets going. Surely an obvious one is that he spell out the Tory legislation that he will repeal (or do we have to cowtow to the idea he can't risk upsetting voters who want to keep the Tories' undermining of civil and workers' rights in place). What about repeal of the Voter Card law which this group were actually discussing the ills of? How about recovering the money from bent Covid contracts – not for the sake of it – in order to pay for…whatever public services? What about confirming a pay deal for NHS workers no less than the rate of inflation? Why are we working on the weird principle that every possible policy Labour could propose in detail will carry a strong risk of being unwelcome by the public at large? There are no policies which would be well recieved now and no less well received at the time of the election! Is this really credible?
Starmer is banning people from the party in droves including Jews
The Labour files & The big lie
The problem we have in this country is that a large proportion of the population has been convinced (gaslit) that low taxes are the main enabler of growth, which isn’t necessarily the case. However, this belief means that the Labour Party is rightly nervous about advocating expensive policies ahead of the election which the Tory Media will joyfully point out means increasing taxes. Education falls squarely in this area even though the future of this country is dependent on a better educated and motivated population. The future prosperity of this country will only improve if we ‘tax for growth’ and wisely spend tax receipts to invest in education, housing, infrastructure, etc.
All Hail the Lava Lamp
The idea that Starmer is only popular because of the Tory's doesn't ring true to me. If you look at pollsters more people are positive of Starmer than Corbyn. It is not just a case that fewer people dislike him.
Edit: e.g. YouGov (positive/negative/neutral): Starmer (31/36/28) vs. Corbyn (19/49/27).
I love listening to yo all❤😊
Starmer is a disappointment touch of the Tory about him.
Starmer is not providing the theatrics the media needs and many of the british seem to want but he is needed for stability
He sunak is the same as baldrick a cunning plan leading to nowhere the tories will make as much money till they get kicked out ?
wasn't it Cameron who abolished introduction of UK I'D cards soon after gaining power?
Hail the Lava Lamp
The act of making the food look fresher and making more of it was known as 'adulteration'.
Adding chalk to flour, water to milk, colouring meat red and other things were very common right up to the end of the Edwardian era.
Chlorinated chicken has been washed in a chlorine solution for hygiene reasons. While it may sound off putting it is one of the most effective methods of disinfecting food and is used across the EU & UK on products such as salad. The only reason the EU banned chlorinated chicken is because they deemed it too effective and claimed this could lead to reduced standards in the farming facilities. Chlorinated chicken is not substandard and it could be claimed that the EU introduced the ban in order to protect their own market financially from quality chicken imported from the US at far lower prices compared to the EU.
To be fair, when you are at the bottom of the league, a modest growth rate can be the highest growth rate in the G7, if only because you are starting from a low base.
However, because it is reasonably achievable ( due to its modesty) it is sensible as it can show 'achievement' which will help drive further support ( which is necessary to undo Tory damage)
At last someone talking about the voter id
Scotland WILL move our energy back to Scottish ownership, make no mistake about that.
I quite liked old T to P until he spouted the Corbyn is antisemetic lie. The worthless scumbag.
I love Brexit, newer got so much to.
But I live in Europe
Lee Anderson you couldn't get a penny chew now let alone a meal for 30p FOR a family of 4 and you can make concrete Not Grow it silence is Golden?
The chlorinated chicken AFAIK is done in response for the poor conditions of the animals. In other words, instead of high standards for the keeping and feeding of the animals, chlorination is done to try and reduce bacteria. In the EU things like Campylobacter has been reduced in chicken to virtually nothing, yet in the States it's one of the primary food poisonings. So they do this chlorination, but it isn't effective.
