Subzero Temps and Snowstorms… We're Moving On. | Off-Grid Treehouse Build Ep. 33

What an incredible and truly special year it’s been. We began with nothing more than a small patch of land, covered in pine needles, buried squatters treasures and a few massive pine trees. Now, just one short year later, Ted and I have turned it into a magical haven where we can retreat to in a moments notice to find peace, recharge, and reconnect with our inner child.
This adventure has taught Ted and me so much, not just about building a dream but about ourselves. (The good, bad and ugly!) Along the way, we’ve received countless questions… about the treehouse, about us, and about where we’re headed next. We put together this video to share our story and answer some of those questions.
It’s all here, from the practical to the deeply personal, and we hope it brings a smile to your face and a little inspiration to your day.
As always, thanks for being here and sharing in our adventure story. We love you guys and none of this would be possible without your continued support and encouragement.

  1. OH MY GOODNESS YOU GUYS! I have tried searching for that song with Shazam so many times and searching by lyrics with no luck! Thank you so much for putting that in the video. I love that song. I've found several new artists (new to me) from the songs in your videos. Keep up the great work! ❤

It sounds like you had a tragic bump in the road, and all I can say is looks like you have had God’s blessings to make your lives happy and complete. Now-go finish that basement.😊

  6. I have no idea the trials y'all have suffered through, but 2 Corinthians 12:9 is God's promise that carried me through the death of my first husband when I was 24, & he was 25. "For my grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness." His grace is sufficient, & His strength is awesome! Thanks for another great video. We can't wait to see the basement job! God bless y'all abundantly. Thank y'all for your witness & for keeping your family safe!! ♥️🙏♥️👍

  7. Hello from north East Tennessee. My wife and I have been watching for a while now and we absolutely love you guys. This is only the second time I’ve commented on a video but I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your vulnerability. I am a pastor of a small congregation and you are an inspiration to me. Thank you and we can’t wait to see the transformation of the basement. Be blessed and be a blessing.

  8. much better situation with the lines attachments. that outside amenities block and fire pit are brilliant and so custom by you. The basement needs some sorting out and build storage and of course some solutions for further sleeping spots and possibly hang outs by your no longer kids but adults. definitely dont feel embarassed you have spent years doing so much and you need such areas to store what life brings and requires. Do what you want and believe in with taking some ideas from watchers comments.

  9. At least you can walk through your basement so, I grew up with a very full almost hoarder basement. you really don't have that much.

I'm looking forward to seeing the changes in the basement.

  11. Wise wise wise – protect your kids, especially your daughter. Jenna you’ll also have to be careful once you start to rent. Best you both don’t confront paying guests if at all possible, nor handle bookings, payment transactions, etc. Best you hire someone that handles phone, in person contacts, etc., w/guests / renters. Have Cameras / Security system around ur private home / property area, perhaps electric fencing as well. We ran a 3 location Child Care business and quickly realized as owners it’s was best /safest for us as owners + our 7 children to stay aloof / out / away from our loved clientele. Even a few minutes of socializing can cause clients / the public to feel / assume they are now best friends w/you and assume they have rights and privileges to violate ur rules and private places. It’s very sad, but reality.

  13. Ted, Jenna: I really appreciate your transparency and authenticity! Your heartfelt videos are truly noticeable! My question; How long have you been walking with the Lord (Saved by Grace)? I was 32 years old when life grabbed ahold of me, and I needed a change. My beautiful wife, cried & prayed for me to accept Jesus Christ (so I would not go to hell)! We have been married for 41 years, two adult children & four grandchildren. God continues to bless us in so many ways!
