Stress and Facing Failure – Macro Photography to the Rescue!

Life is sometimes difficult, and I’m forever grateful that photography is here to help me get out of my moods.

It’s time for Macro Therapy with the Fujifilm X-T4 and 80mm Macro (with a few guest appearances by the GFX 50Sii and the 50-140mm.)

Every day is more beautiful, no matter where I am, because of photography.

Many of the photos you see me use are edited with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I sometimes use my own custom presets, skies and textures in them, and I give some of my best away in my Newsletter! To sign up and get the free stuff, go here: https://jerredz.com/newsletter/

  1. Good fortune on your new adventure. If I get up the nerve and time I might try and put up some pictures at 13th street coffee. There is also a gallery in Nebraska city, that requires the work to be judged first, which means I need to get some stuff printed. Hope to see you Friday

  2. Enjoyable video Jerred. Love those macros! Keep on plugging along. Remember if things get tough there are jobs to take if the need arises. I'm sure you will make a living at photography, you are that good. All the best.

  3. Ahhhhh……… the dreaded to-do lists. This time of year I feel the stress of that hard. I really need to get moving and put together a plan so I can do some photography work in retirement. BTW, how did the show go? Hope it was successful. Need some advice: Last year I did graduation photos for my daughter. Now her friend has asked me to do some for her. I want to get a better lens to do this job as I only have the 18-55 and a Canon FD 50mm manual focus. So, since you shot the 50-140; would you rather shoot portraits with it or with the 56mm f1.2? Remember, I have the XT-3, no IBIS. I don't think the 56 has OIS, but it's a beautiful portrait lens and much smaller/lighter than the 50-140.. All the shots will be outside in good light. I've been leaning with renting two lenses; the 56mm and the 33mm f1.4. I'm worried that I won't be able to handle the 50-140 because of it's size and weight. Thanks for any suggestions. Have a great week!

  4. Those are killer shots Jarred! Especially considering the wind. I probably wouldn't even have tried it with the high contrast day time lighting without a diffuser.

Also naps are allowed and work wonders. You might try it. You'll feel better and make better decisions.

  6. Hey Jerred! I think you are a positive, creative, intelligent guy. I love your videos and I think your photos are exceptional. (Great macro work, by the way!). I'm confident you can make this work if you truly want to; I think you do. Of course, that's easy for me to say after retiring from the same job after 45 years🙂. I wish you good luck and good fortune in any of your endeavors.
