Thanks for this vid that went thru my old hood..polish power!
When I was a kid the Chocolate 🍫was so good.
Higher ^^
Long ago when I lived in Philly, I had a total of four vehicle windows broken by no-goodniks. Two vehicles, my personal car and work vehicle.
The captain makes Philly seem so appealing that it's good to see the other side.
Awesome video Jon! ✌️
'These are the people in your neighborhood" 2023
Great video my friend worked at Globe Dye Works long ago like over 59 years ago what memories
@8:01 somebody went through a lot of effort to jumble the letters around on the Globe Dye Works sign.
come to mayfair next!
Blue Meanie worked at that adult videos store. Blue hair and all.
Wasn't that AMTRAK that went past you? It is one of the three trains we have near me in Florida, and it sure looked like AMTRAK. Nice run through the neighborhood. Bridge Street brings back memories of the 59-B Bus. I took it to Bridge and Pratt to get the EL Train.
Some of the candies produced by the Blumenthal Brothers Chocolate Company were Goobers, chocolate-coated peanuts introduced in 1925
Malties, chocolate-covered malt balls
Fruit and Nut Bridge Mix
Milk Chocolate Treats, which were nearly identical to Hershey Kisses.
Chunky bars, trapezoidal chocolate bar with nuts and raisins
Sno Caps, semi-sweet chocolate candies covered with white nonpareils introduced in 1927.
Raisinets, chocolate-coated raisins introduced in 1927.
The company, after going bankrupt, was sold several times before Ferrero in 2018.
Idk what ima do yet, I wanna move back to Philly but I'll have to sell my house over here in jerz
Hey philly captain, Edgmont street by the cemetary has had a string of catalytic converters stolen from multiple cars. If you do any night trips you may catch some hood rats at work.
? Riders Lumber has been there since 1978.
My brother remembers when that stretch of I-95 along street road was blocks of hundreds of row homes taken by emminent domain. An entire neighborhood displaced. Now it looks like a waste land of concrete, trash, and weeds.
Hey PHILLY CAPTAIN, the Bridesburg refinery used to be the old Rohm & Haas..That fast Amtrak train Acelo speeds up to 150 mph .Great scoot video around..Later on & TOODLES…
Yo Cap, you're getting closer to the recycling center at the end of Bridge,. You could probably fall out of Krik Water and be there. Scoot on over and say hi and I'll give you the 10 cent tour.
Loved seeing the old factory buildings and signs. I used to work at Hollywood Video, I think in 97. It was the one up by Roosevelt Mall, it was a hike from Fishtown. Great place to work but I hated the uniform. Tuxedo shirt, cumberbun and bow tie.
There are still some old school hardware stores around. My go to is S&H at Castor and Unruh. That place is great for hard to find parts. A must for working on old houses in Philly that don't match today's "standards".
My grandmother worked in that yarn factory in Port Richmond. I remember as a kid my mom would bring me to visit her and I would run around the factory. Who knows if that was safe but I remember it being fun.
If the train passes a street-level intersection they have to blow the horn
Lol, 95 was always being worked on
Love to all from the UK ❤️ love the tours around this complex city. Thanks for your hard work and enthusiasm.
"By the mid-1800, chocolate in Philadelphia was a thriving industry. Big names included Quaker City Chocolate, Wilbur, Laurent and Maron, Whitman's…" Think Hershey started in the Philly area before heading west
Philly Captain!!! Great videos. Krik Wuder is an awesome place, good times there. You from Bridesburg
😊
Captain I don’t live that far from where you are filming. I’m near Tacony and Church
Selling for 165K, 🥹
The car didn’t have seats!
I've been railfanning there!
In my old neighborhood again!! Had you kept going down Gillingham to Ditman, and make a right on Ditman, I lived on the 4500 block of Ditman throughout my childhood. You turned up Torresdale and stopped filming right before you got to Orthodox…Orthodox is pretty bad now (it was bad growing up, but it got worse). Be careful around there.
This was by the AMVETS…c. 1945-1955.
Meaning, a place to enjoy a “cold one,” on a Sunday. Bottles only. 😅
That my hood. Hey we should meet up I got some things we con
They need to add a turning lane an signal to that intersection an that would elevate all the crap in the morning with the traffic. My 2 youngest go to Maritime an it’s a pain in the morning with traffic. I think they do not get input from residents or people that “actually” travel that intersection like most other parts of the city.
I was expecting to see Philadelphia covered in snow and ice!
We love 🖤 Rick the puppy 👍
How does that adult store even Stay in buisness? Don't people know porn is free on the internet?😉🤣

What is the scooter you use? What brand?
Being a BIG Eagles like yourself, why don’t Eagles’ fans sing, “Fight Eagles Fight, instead of “Fly Eagles Fly?” The latter is weak.
Forgot to say, “Great videos, always.”
It's interesting to watch. But all the litter in the streets, if you so much as drop a cigarette end in my country England you get fined. It's much cleaner here.
Apparently all the old dye works were the worst contributors to Delaware River pollution back in the day.
Never been there or lived there me nor my kids are drunk mail thieves euther
189k? To live there? Nothing personal but no thanks. Yikes.
