You need to read and follow the instructions the game give you more, you seem to just "Do your own thing" with these types of games, then you complain when you can't figure something out. Maybe pay more attention.

z you forgot lots of helpful stuff in the escape pod
Here is the story you missed. You arrived as a new engineer and got some tasks to do (you skipped the virtual training that you were supposed to take, it would have explained how to use inventory and build/scrap things). When the last task to repair the circuit board was ongoing the rocked leaving the base had malfunction and exploded the base. You tried to escape but didn't make it to the escape rocked in time so you took the other escape pod rocked. It had malfunction as well so you ended up crash landing back on mars. Also, the base you found is non-functional and there are a lot of such bases all over the place (based on the story there were a lot of failed missions to colonize mars). You have all the necessary tools and materials in the landing pod to start a simple base (water, shelter and food) but you need to be careful not to die before because of some mistakes.
Soooo, apparently there was some copywrite music in the game as background sound, I cut these portions out of the video. If it seems to jump randomly from one thing to another this is why. Thank you all for the support and I hope you enjoy!
Use te pod for oxygen and rest, all the compartment are full of stuff.

The first guy told you to take a fuse with you but you just left and didn't pickup the green highlighted fuse off his desk!!
28:36 I checked some other videos, and the jump distance to the escape pod is waaaaaaay shorter. Those were older videos though, so I'm not sure if it's a bug in your game session or they made it much more difficult.
The booster failed, you may have ADHD, you seem to miss things that are explicitly told you.
Just a FYI; the rumor is that the next update, supposedly the anniversary update(but a few months late) will not be compatible with current saves…
Your first task now is to BUILD A WELL! You're running low on water, and until you get battery tech, wells only pump water during the day. So time is of the essence.
Raid the upper lockers of your pod, LEAVE the planting gun, the water and electrical cable. You don't need those quite yet.
Also, you found a tablet. USE it.
And your Tablet(T-Key) contains a lot of information you will need. Read it.
So funny seeing someone new playing this, It's kind of bad that they now put you down so close to the old base, new players think that's where you start but it's all just junk for scrapping while you build your own base. They used to put you down pretty far from the abandoned bases.
