Stranded Alien Dawn S4 EP9 "Space Communications"

Our survivors are true champs. Some concrete and wall upgrades, a couple of nasty battles, radio desk built and dish under construction and everybody has clothes. Trying out my discord channel. Feel free to join. https://discord.gg/UVkT4TBmeV

  1. Suggestion:
What if you built a bunker, made of the strongest material, right next to the landing pad.
It would have extra food, weapons, a way to cook, and extra meds.
This would be a place for the last couple of survivors to run to, if the base becomes overrun, to wait for the rescue ship.

  2. Hey Radio,
I was watching your Twitch stream, but my 1 month subscription had expired, so I couldn't make any comments. I hope to get a new job in the near future, and won't be free to watch your live streams any longer, so I didn't pay for another month. Sorry, you will have to do without my live input. That said, here are the remarks I would have made if you could read them.

46:10 Jack's back. OK Jack is ALREADY a genius, from the previous exposure he had to Ancient Alien tech. So even if he did win his 25% chance of becoming a genius, IT WOULDN'T HAVE DONE ANYTHING! Now he is an idiot. 😣🤤 šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø
1:03:35 As you scroll through the inventory for each survivor it is clearly seen that Emelin has an older railgun and that it is almost used up, and no spear. We also see that Paulette has a Pulse rifle and that Sora doesn't have a spear either. The fact that Paulette has a Pulse rifle is evident earlier when they all go hunting and her range ring is smaller than everyone else's, and I do mean smaller, like half the range. 18:37 šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

1:56:27 There are some good points though. Despite turning everything off one checkbox at a time for like the first four storage selections you do use the deselect all feature near the end of the stream. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Not this "wise man". šŸ‘

There were a few other things I wanted to mention, the reserve power. You talked about the diesel generator. You actually already have that battery backup, or UPS, I helped you set up with the low power switch on circuit 2. You can add more, but having 5 improved capacity batteries, I don't think that backup is ever going to be needed.

Putting all the heaters on a thermostat might be a good idea. Much easier than trying to monitor the heat yourself and individually turning them on and off.
Now that you have set them all to go to sleep, a day/night sensor for the lights in their rooms might be a good idea. You could also put the solder benches and the electric stove on that circuit as well since they won't be using them when asleep.
When the one solar panel was broken I was thinking you should just upgrade it. May consider doing that for each windmill or solar panel that breaks from now on.

Have you given any thought to putting in a laser turret? I think you already have plenty of defenses, it is just that no one has seen that one in action yet.

You need two of those radio dishes to get the radio to work. You are pretty much at the end game.

As far as something for Simon or Paulette to do, there are still things to observe. I noticed that it was an option along with butcher on those bloated insects. Still haven't observed them yet.

All in all, I think you did real well and, except for the incident with poor Jack, I enjoyed the stream. I'll be there for SAD again tomorrow. Having fun, keep up the good content.

  3. Loved it radio. Next season you should make one big storage room at one height and other rooms comming off it at another height to give it a wild look. You can build roofs over floors with no walls. Sort of like a carport or awning

  4. Hey Radio. Love your AD videos.
You have over 1.3k hay. Why not replace the hay fields in front of your base with grain? Your grain growth rate on the dark patches should be much higher.

  5. Rather than have two openings that lead to the main gate, you'd be better off with one, and a zig-zag corridor (within your turrets fields of fire) with traps the whole way though. The rest of your set up looks survivable so far though with the amount of hay you have available, you could have built stronger walls with brick, though it takes longer to make. Enjoying what I've seen so far, good luck.

  6. You should consider using the concrete walls to create lanes where the insects that use ranged attacks can't get a line of sight on your survivors or turrets until they are inside your kill box. The other walls are all too low to give you that cover.

  7. Another game I'd love to see you play.
It's the new update of Icarus.
It's new update now has Open World. There is survival and base building. Sectional, like you like.
    Hope you check it out.

I've been loving watching you play Alien Dawn.

    Thanks for the great entertainment.

  8. I've really enjoyed some people's builds that put all one big building (as you mentioned you might try in the next season!), with bedrooms all around the outside of a large main area that was used for hanging out, crafting and cooking. It was really nice, but the organic way you went about it was interesting also.
