Storm Fiona: Full extent of damage in Prince Edward Island not known, officials say

As Prince Edward Island begins to take stock of the damage left behind by post-tropical storm Fiona, officials say the full picture is not yet clear. In fact, it could take days to understand how widespread the impacts are.

The storm surge swept docks to sea and pushed buildings from the shore. The storm left more than 90 per cent of the island without power.

On Sunday, public works crews began surveying the damage.

“I’m 81 and its about the worst one I’ve ever seen,” one resident said, describing the damage the storm left in its wake.

Silas Brown has the latest on the recovery efforts.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.Romans 10. 9-10
so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.Hebrews 9. 28

  3. My heart goes out to all of the people impacted by this storm. People need to begin to prepare for an unstable world. I recommend an amazing passage from the New Message ~ Facing Planetary Instability that can be read online for free. "You are witnessing chaotic events in the world. Imagine yourself being in those events, surviving those events. Let them teach you what you would have to do, how you would have to prepare and think, what would be the wisest course of action. Let these terrible and unsettling events instruct you. Do not simply avoid them, or be horrified by them, or indulge in your own fears and fantasies. Instead, allow them to instruct you, for they are preparing you for the new world—a new world disorder, a new world instability."

  4. What about the Souris causeway, the Magdalen Islands ferry dock, where is the ferry, are the people on the Magdalen Islands okay (they have some pretty low areas), did they lose their saltmines, is the East Point Lighthouse in P.E.I. still there as it was already heavily eroded. Why are all the news doing the exact same locations? Did Green Gables come through, how about the Confederation Bridge, is it undamaged?
