Stellaris: THIS SPECIES STINKS! – Ep 4

Broccoli: It’s what’s stinking up your galaxy. Playing on Grand Admiral (scaling) difficulty with a species setup that is… somewhat less than optimal. This is going to be my hardest game of Stellaris EVER.

Shout out to Eagris from my Discord for the AI-generated broccoli art. 🙂

  1. I usually go for the tech perk as my first ascension perk, getting more rare techs faster is good at giving you an advantage. Even something as simple as getting an additional +100 hull on corvettes (one of the early purples) increases your advantage substantially. It also increases the chance of getting the psionic tech substantially.

Another one that is fun to get early if you are running an empire that allows "thralls" is the one that gives you the raiding bombardment stance. I did it once and hit every primitive world I found, even managing to completely depopulate a planet by abduction, which then allowed me to colonize the planet without using an army.

  2. Don't sell minor artifacts, you need a bunch of them for your final Precursor research project! I've had games where I couldn't ever afford to do the research project just because I used up just a handful of them.
