Stellaris continues, as the Fallen Empire next door starts making some worrying moves, and our archaeologists descend into madness, but luckily I have a plan…

Blessed by Zarqlan again, is john gonna let the swarm take L gate again? lets find out
happy zarqlan day
Wow, it's been a while since I've picked up Stellaris. The last I remember, megastructures required certain ascension perks.
Oh dear, the Tabbies have become xenophobes.
"I have no mouth and I have a plan"
Thank you for the video.
HAPPY ZARQLAN DAY!
19:40
Jon what do you think a Linguist is?
One thing to consider about Arc Furnaces is they delete trade deposits. Not necessarily the biggest drawback depending on what kind of empire you are building, but it can hurt if you are hoping to profit from trade. With your current build though alloys and minerals are much more important, so should be fine deleting the trade deposits.
Zarqlan day!
Jon you should trade communications with empires you like so you can start the galactic community stuff ASAP
It's the aquatics trailer sea shanty!
I'm a robot and I'm digging a hole, diggy diggy hole, artifacts galore.
God dammit. Every time Jon plays Stellaris I get the itch the play all over again. Then I hop onto Steam, calculate the cost of the DLCs I don't have and weep little.
I'd love John to play the Gigastructures mod. I want to see him try to defeat the Blocky cats.
"I have a plan" this usually ends well as Jon is a competent and capable player!
Praise be to Zarqlan!
Begining transformation before upgrading your capital means you are going to lose your homeworld bonus from transformation when you make your capital ecumenopolis.
7:10 Awareness decreased.
John: they became more aware!
@31:30 – Nice to see how they wove Cetana into the Zarqlan lore.
Will the spiritualist empire send their pilgrims to a civilisation of materialist sentient disincarnated AIs?
Or would the fall of Zarqlan's head into the hands of these soulless technological abominations prompt a holy war to reclaim the relic and put an end to their hubris?
I guess we will find out soon!
That is not fair. You found Zarqlan last time! I never find that relic. You have incredible luck, Jon, and I am envious.
Loving this series so far, but I would prefer the somewhat less streamline-edited, longer form episodes of the previous series that run over an hour long. I think the new style of editing heavoly the Stellaris videos of the channel was good for one-offs, but this series lives on detail and prolonged engagement.
Chameleon field? Hidden tomb? Come on Jon! ZARQLAN WILLS IT!
Every now and then I remember that one time I got one of jon’s xcom 2 soldiers killed live on stream…
Jon, minor optimization: if you have excess mineral or food income, set up a monthly trade rather then selling in chunks. This upsets the market less and results in higher energy income.
The original Impossible Run also had a "I have a plan" episode. Nice callback.
The Primitives probably didnt see the Asteroid, but the Lightshow in the Nightsky that lasted over a Month, as the Asteroid was blasted by Space-Weapons.
Plays Synthetics. Doesn't colonise every world available and is still at two worlds 50 years in.
Hmm.
I swear to god, Jon, if you get the Head of Zarqlan in yet another Impossible Run, I'm going to be SO ANGRY
uhhh jon, the new megastructures don't count as actual megastructures. They're like gateway's, you can build as many as you want at the same time. (up to the cap of course)
I wouldn't recommend that because it would tank the economy, but you can.
The announcement that democracy week is next week is VERY reassuring for this series
I enjoy Jon's crystal clear presentation. I never played Stellaris, but I can easily follow what is happening, plus the what and why of the strategy,
Linguistics is a science…
Gotta stop having such tasty scientists.
ZARQLAN again? you lucky b"st'rd
Seeing the huge armada pass through Rome made me think of the one Ben Hur scene. The one with all the chanting.
You may want to complete those precursor digsites. You get something quite nice from that one.
jon please uncheck the box in the bottom right
I have absolutely 0 idea of what's going on in this series but I am still having a good time.
You can hear that shanty (without the space references) in Assassin's Creed: Black Flag.
