If you’re trying to figure out what to play during the June 2023 Next Fest, here’s a selection of great games that are well worth your time. In this video we’ll go through a handful of strategy games, city builders, tactical combat titles, and more as we discuss some of the most interesting looking games at Next Fest – at least based on what I had access to ahead of time. With thanks to the developers for sending me keys and a heads up they’d be in Next Fest, today we’re taking a look at Norland, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, Blockbuster Inc., These Doomed Isles, and Xenotheria.

Finally, a successor of "The Movies". It only took 18 years lol
Blockbuster Inc. Looks promising!
Having video dialog under your voice is a bit distracting during the shadowgambit section
this is why i subscib to this channel
Always love these videos.
Recommendation: Jumplight Odyssey. FTL /City (Spacecraft) management / Battlestar / Anime (Specifically Starblazers: Space Battleship Yamato)
Blockbuster Inc. reminds me of the PC game The Movies. You own a studio lot and you make movies and keep your people happy.
Noooooooo my waller!
would love the demo for broken arrow back or a demo for city skyline 2

"genre defining?"
What the hell are you talking about. The genre was defined by Comandos behind enemy lines more than 20 years ago.
Wow I’m sorry but if this is what you consider the best of this year’s Next Fest, I’m happy to wait for the games I demoed last year like Manor Lords. These low poly games just don’t do it for me. Not saying they are bad just I’m completely unimpressed visually and I guess I’m shallow like that.
I just want a turn-based strategy game that plays like Jagged Alliance 2. It wasn't the best game ever, but had a complete lack of "deck building," which is completely overrated.
Jumplight Odyssey looks great
Blockbuster looks much more in-depth than the two recently released games: Showrunner and Moviehouse 🙂
Thanks very helpful
PartyElite thank you for sharing our game! We are working hard to add as much content and features in a polished manner as we can. The visibility will helps us with more feedback which we really appreciate.
Best regards, Super Sly Fox
Cool games. At a recent steam festival, I played the demo of another potentially good game – Arnold Bounty Hunter. It looks more like the first Battletoads – there are not only fights, but also various adventures with platforming, hydrocycles. It also looks interesting. I liked the demo.
Defender's Quest 2 finally has a playable demo and it's on Next Fest also.
Bit weird to call the Mimimi games "genre defining" when they are basically throwbacks to an existing popular but underserved genre.
Please bring back Planet Zoo that was my all time favorite videos I would love to see it make a return
Cool list of games, but why isn't the muller powell principle here? add in the next release pls.
Norland demo was very promising, thanks! Really loving Gord as well, it looks to have ELITE potential! Has me hooked bigtime.
is it just me or the narration in this video is really bad? feels like there is an unnatural flow to the speech
