State Trooper Rescues Cat From Busy Highway

When a cat found itself on a dangerous road, an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper came to the rescue. The cat was scared and tried to hide in the patrol car. Trooper Katie Thomas and a good Samaritan worked together to safely get the kitty out of harm’s way. The cat took a ride in the backseat, which it wasn’t happy about. But the journey led to him getting adopted. Inside Edition Digital has more.

  1. I was driving home with a co-worker when a kitten ran terrified across 4 lanes of traffic (75MPH traffic) right in front of us.
Quickly we stopped the car and looked for the kitten.
Being a cat lover I am extremely good at doing a “distressed kitten/ and/or Mamma cat cry”.
Sure enough the little light brown fur all relied back to me, and after a short chase in the bushes I was able to catch him.
Poor boy was distressed, exhausted, and terrified.
But after a half hour stuffed in my jacket in the warm car he calmed down.
A family friend found a forever home.
He was part Siamese with a slightly spotty coat.
    Pretty boy…

  2. The new definition of SPIKE STRIP! I've never seen Spike Strips being used on the highway 🛣 on the Police 🚔 🚗 Car tires before…. other then the times they throw the spikes at the wrong moments… and the other cruiser chasing the suspect accidentally run over the SPIKE Strips… either because the suspect vehicle swerved around the SPIKE Strips… or the officer who tossed the spike strips doesn't get them out far enough… or the officer is trying to use the rope to pull back the spike strips & the cruiser chasing the suspect vehicle… accidentally runs over them being in the wrong lane. 🤣😅🤣
Mind you… I have seen a police chase in hugh speed pursuit of a mini-van… where they used the spike strips… the van ran over them on the front passenger side tire… and as the vehicle was still speeding… the tire completely shredded off the rim… with the rim digging into the asphalt… leaving a long trail of asphalt that had long dig marks into the roads… as the van went flying down the road you could hear the rim riding against the asphalt… and see the sparks flying off the vehicle rim… and could hear the "thump – thump – thump" and grinding sounds as the rim went from being a tire & rim… to a rim with some tire shreds hanging off the rim… to a somewhat round rim… with flat spots starting to wear into the rim… from the heat, the sparks, the weight of the vehicle, the speed of the vehicle, the wear & tear of the rim & asphalt grinding together. Heck even at one point the van on 3 good tires… and 1 tire that was just rim, tire shreds, and sparks… somehow even managed to get completely airborne… as it went flying into the town and went full speed over the speed bumps in the town center. That was one wild Chase…. before the days of video cameras on cellphones. 🤣😅🤣

  3. It's always good to see our police saving lives instead of recklessly ending them. You can tell this state trooper is good at her job. Law enforcement needs better training overall.
