That day like you said was a Holiday for some people. I'd expect it to be more crowded than usual.
Don’t you think the $18 individual lighting lane for racers, is why it’s shorter?
Love the side by side tracking how busy one day is from another – thank you for your efforts!
The reason radiator springs racers LL is a lot less then haunted mansion or some other ride is because it’s the individual LL so people don’t want to pay extra after also paying for genie+
Love these kinds of video and love the side by side of the crowds
“I want to hug Chewie’s leg” or “sentences you never think you’d hear an adult ever say.” 😂
i rather eat at Poquito mas in Buena Park
RIDES BROKEN CONSTANTLY! Crowds shoulder to shoulder the last 5 days. They don’t even clean the parks like they did 3 years ago!! They are NOT putting they’re price gouged money back into the parks. ZERO MAGIC. THE STATE OF DISNEY IS A DISASTER & they killed the magic. Woke kill it or greed? Who knows but don’t waste a dime of your money in that place unless you just like standing in 2 hour lines with a 40% chance the ride breaks down & you’re asked to return later.
Outside of this being a combination of things. I think, it’s a combination of people finally feeling comfortable enough to travel, and have been postponing their big travel due to family stuff, sickness, work, what have you. Now want to get that Disney fix. Price hikes taking advantage of that and people are apparently still going.
I don’t care what it costs, Genie+ was absolutely worth it when I went on Oct 5th, 6th, and 7th. There was times when the standby line was like 50-60 minutes and our Lightning lane wait was maybe 15 minutes which was amazing when you have an impatient 4 year old with you. We enjoyed our trip a lot even when some attractions broke down they’d come back up and we’d get our spot again. As someone who hadn’t been to Disneyland since 2015, it was expensive but very enjoyable and worth it in my eyes.
Star Wars Land is a fraud, I didn’t like anything about it
Columbus Day has become a sleeper super busy day. I was there for Columbus Day 2019 and it was crazy busy. Busier than July 4th this year for sure.
I just went to Disneyland yesterday, Oct. 16th, and I will say this…There are a LOT of people riding around on motorized scooters and they are dangerous when it's crowded. My young son was nearly run over by scooter wheels multiple times, and it's infuriating having to dart out of their path and yank my little son out of the way so he wouldn't be hit. I can't believe Disneyland allows so many of those things in when they are tons of small children who can easily be injured by those wheels.
We had the worst experience with Radiator Springs Racers on Friday 10/14.
We joined the line at a 70 minute wait. It took us 3 1/2 hours to get through the line. They were allowing approximately 10 people in standby through for every 60 people in lightning lane. When we finally got to the front we confirmed that they were in fact allowing two families in and huge amounts of lightning so we complained to the lady and asked her if she realized that we all have been waiting in line for over 3 hours. Everyone around us was PISSED. like super upset and the girl just goes, I’m just doing my job and trying to get paid. Lightning lane always has priority. She was so rude and the outrage moved down the line. Before we boarded we heard cheering and when we finished the ride they had moved her to be a greeter at the beginning of the line and everyone cheered
Doesn’t help that you went during a holiday a lot of people had that day off
I don’t know why you laugh when it’s a 100+ min wait for Mansion but then talk about the reservation system, LL and raising ticket prices like that’s a bad thing? The goal is to eventually get it so that people don’t wait in 2-3hr lines. So if it’s a joke that the parks are too crowded, please tell a CM what your solution is.
You said at the beginning of the video that it was Columbus Day / Indigenous People Day, which is a Federal / Bank holiday. Also, many schools (district my kiddos are in is one) districts are on a Fall Break. We know many families that headed to Anaheim. We intentionally do not go to Disneyland on Fall Break weekends, always crazy busier than normal. Factor in people who think it won’t be busy on a Monday, going and it being a Bank Holiday, just a thought. 🤷🏼♀️
I wonder if Disney intentionally slows down the queues to build up frustration and encourage Genie+ sales.
Genie plu$, creating longer wait in standby lines, pay to ride a fool and his money are soon parted. Lightning lane is also getting longer, the parks are supposed to stop overcrowding, that is why you have too book in the days you go, but profit over satisfaction is di$ney new motto.
Toon town is still down and ticket prices went up, what other rides are down.
its busy because of columbus day. everybody is off….
Imagine you built your own theme park of your dreams and people from around the world come to see it and keep coming back, now imagine a person like Bob Chapek runs it and there is no benefit for you, now imagine you are Walt, are you still happy with Bob?
Friday 10/14 posted wait time for haunted was 85 minutes. Waited 147 minutes.
Thanks for the video. Some of these rides look pretty creative, but the lines are too long and there are too many people there for me to have fun at the actual park.
It’s unclear if folks going now, during October, have ever been pre-pandemic in October. After a Halloween visit in 2006 I swore off this time period. Been more recently in Sept, incl to Oogie Boogie, and that was crowded but fun. I will never ever again visit in October. Literally no food available, no seats, nothing. Christmas (November) in 2019 was almost as bad, but not quite. (Nowhere to sit, but crowds avoidable.) Been on plenty of spring break trips (my husband had a HS choir performing, so we were stuck) that were bad, but nowhere near as bad. Since Halloween was a “thing” it’s been the worst possible time to go to DL. Welcome to the beforetimes, nothing new to see here!!
(That said, breakdowns sadly seem way worse… Not that we weren’t walked off BTM in 2006!)
5 pm the most common time people eat dinner? To me that’s like a late lunch haha.
Most of you posting comments about not enjoying the park because its too crowded are so insufferable. You were towing the David/Fresh Baked line as the parks reopened complaining there werent enough people in the park and now you cant breathe.
Disney should pack those parks and make that money! Stick it to you suckers! 🙂
We just got back from Disneyland. Quick trip on Sat 10/15 and Sun 10/16. It was sooooo busy! At one point Haunted Mansion was listed at 190 min! Unbelievable. We got rained on with thunder and lightening Sat night and most rides closed. I have put this trip in the “ok” category as far as trips go. We still had a good time and good to getaway.
Honestly, Disneyland seems just plain awful right now. Those crowds are a nightmare! Of course I only go once a year, and take great pains to coordinate a trip at a slow time of the year.
Shame on Disney for opening up the reservation calendar and letting this many people in. They knowingly ruined the guest experience for all those people who paid to be there. I've been there on days like this and it is miserable. The kids are impatient because they are tired of waiting an hour for every ride, you can't even walk around without being on top of everyone else, you can't stop and get a snack because the lines are soo long… We need to put TONS of pressure on Disney to not let this happen!!! Asking Disney to open the flood gates is the wrong answer.
At what point should Disney be offering refunds to people for this poor level of delivery? If I paid $20 for a pizza and they gave me a microwave pizza that had been dropped on the ground and was lying in a heap, I would want my money back.
I love CMs and think they do an AMAZING job, but I don't think asking people to show up for their shifts is being treated poorly.
This looks like a good day to show how crowds can move throughout the park. Tomorrowland and Fantasyland are generally more popular in the morning. So they were likely very busy early on. Now the crowds have moved to the other side of the park and its busy over there leaving Tomorrowland and Fantasyland less crowded. There's definitely something to be said for doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing.
Crowds out of control! Disney over sold the Magic Keys! That's not a fun day at Disneyland. That's a Disney nightmare. Fact- Locals are abusing the parks as cheap weekly entertainment. And, they don't spend money at the parks, like the locals of old, who had annual passes before covid. Everyone with eyes sees what's happening at Disneyland. Magic Keys are being abused to the max!
Yesterday, my sister, who has a local Magic Key, called me from AAA- her car insurance place.
"Hey! They have a two day park hopper for $300! Should I buy one for you, so you can go to Disneyland with me later this week?" No way! I am NOT paying over $300 for a two day park hopper. Go figure? I get two days at Disneyland… while locals abuse the parks for less than $10 per visit, because of their el cheapo $449 annual Magic Key passes! LOL!
I've been there the last few days & I have to say they are close to the point where the $ isn't worth the experience for me anymore.
David, do you think Disney will try to fix this?
Even though it looks really busy I'm glad that this looks like pre covid Disney. Feels like we are more or less back to normal.
