  1. Hey David check your math.
End of 2024 is 2 & 1/2 years from now NOT 1 & 1/2. 1 year from now is summer of 2023 & 1/2 more is end of 2023. Add ONE more year to get to end of 2024. So end of 2024 IS 2 & 1/2 years from now. Not sure if 2 & 1/2 years is enough time for the Splash changeover to Tiana but MAYBE ???

  2. Not to get too sappy, but when you're gone, I'll say, "Ya know, David brought the joy of Disneyland to me when I couldn't get there, and that joy helped me through the dark and sad times of COVID, which is why I was more than happy to subscribe to his Patreon. He gave me far more than I ever gave him. Also, he loved the Mark Twain."

    Jus sayin. 🙂

  3. The Splash Mountain destruction has been cancelled due to funds and backlash and is not happening. Nothing will make me admit otherwise. Brer Rabbit is immortal and will still be there for Disneyland's centennial in 2055. What will go away is all Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar attractions after Disney is trust busted and broken up by Congress who will take those IPs away from Disney. Nobody will miss Disney owning them or their presence in the parks.

  4. I agree with your assessment of the child's expression.
David, I think they pretty much HAVE to change out most of the animatronics in Splash in order to accommodate the retheme to PATF….so, I think what you propose to be a must is exactly what has been and is what's happening….at least, I certainly hope so…..a half-baked retheming simply will not be acceptable!
    I love how you use a pro-wrestling term…Boba Fett's "face turn".
Hey Dave….I was admiring your walkthrough of galaxy's Edge, and I harkened back to all those many months…years…observing the demolition…and then the construction…with "the pool", "the fort" and "mount Spielberg"……mostly from the top of the MAF parking structure, but also the top of the Mark Twain, Gadget's Go Coaster, BTMRR…..wherever you could get a glimpse…….sometimes it's hard to fathom the realization of all that time in observation…amazing!
That first hula girl wasn't shakin' it too well.
David, there are still videos here on the channel dating back to mid 2012…..although, I think I remember the "blowout"! 🤷♂

  5. Thank you so much for these videos! They truly do give me a little piece of home and helps in some of the stressful times we are all going through.

Also, I can voucher for Getaway Today. I've used them in the past for booking hotel and tickets for Disneyland, and was super happy with their service!

  6. If they aren’t going to spend the money and effort to do a proper change, then they shouldn’t do it at all. Splash Mountain is a beloved classic, and losing it for a half effort reskin would be a travesty imo. (Personally I’ve been against the change and think they should’ve built Tiana’s Place instead since that’s her actual dream)

  7. I think everyone was waiting for the Fourth of July. It was a Zoo.
I have been looking at the Stage Coach and I have been noticing that the Stage Couch was in dire need of some restoration. The spokes, fellows and hubs of the wheels were getting loose. The body was also in need of some restoration.

  9. even though it’s busy, i think tomorrowland needs some love. even if they add just a solid show in one of the un/underutilized buildings and maybe another restaurant or store it would feel more filled out. walt realized he couldn’t do what he wanted with this land even before dl opened, so it was never up to par, but it feels more neglected than ever in recent years.

  10. Dave, great vids and information but let's talk about the elephant in the room. 1st, Disney is pricing themselves out of the market. Its just to expensive for a lot of families. 2nd, the political climate. A large portion of Americans dont want to support what Disney is supporting. You are proving this through your Vlogs.

Disney has to either lower prices and get more people in the park or get less people with higher prices. The latter seems the way Disney wants to go. I think if Disney got out of the politics and back to family entertainment like Top Gun and the new Minions movie, Disney will get back to its glory days. Chapek has a few years to change this direction. We will see what way this goes.

I am heading to DL later this month. If its good I will come back. If not, I will be turning to other parks that offer more value.

  11. This is such an oddly specific thing to happen but I’m listening to the classical radio station right now in my room and right when I go to click this video the song that plays at the beginning of the dinosaur sequence on the train starts playing. So funny right?! It was so unexpected but made me so happy at the same time. 😂👌🏻💙✨

  12. Tomorrow land should have the.. "ID" Experience.. Since it was Disney studious that created the "ID" for the movie ("Forbidden Planet") and now with the technology that's available (Rise of the Resistance)…It is now time for "Robbie" the robot, and the Planet Altier plus that Invisible Beast the "ID"( PG-13 😱😬😵). Still the Greatest Sci-Fi Adventure of all time!💯

  13. Dear David @Freshbaked it would be helpful and interesting to do a walkthrough as if you were handicapped. We are original Disney patrons, Hubby went the first week it was open. We are getting older, and hubby is unable to get around as easily. He can transfer, but he has to use a scooter for the walking. Thanks!

  14. I wonder if Disneyland feels less crowded because of the shift from MaxPass to Genie+. More people in queues then before?. I’m sure changes in annual passes are a huge factor as well.

  15. It is not busy because, YOU CAN"T GO WHEN YOU WANT TO! I'm driving down the 210 at the 57 after getting off work early, hey I'll splurge and treat myself to a trip to Disneyland, oh I can't go because I don't have a reservation, so I'll just go home and save $100 bucks.

  16. I’d be shocked if they don’t sell Magic Keys until January. They paused the Dream and Believe Keys before the end of 2021 right? That means they’ll have gone a full year without selling a mostly year round pass. There were lots of people who were still very worried about going to the parks in August 2021 with the Delta variant picking up steam so buying a Disney pass wasn’t even on their radar. Its like they’re creating an exclusive club if people are shutout from buying a pass all the way until 2023. Maybe some people are fine with that. I’m not.

  17. You are right that Tomorrowland is always busy, but I think you agree that thematically Tomorrowland is a mess. It's got the remnants of a dead ride going down the center. They have a Steam Punk rocket ride mixed in with Star Wars and Toy Story influences. The Autopia needs to be brought into the 21st Century. The only thing that makes sense to me is Space Mountain (without the Hyperspace overlay). When Tomorrowland began, I remember how consistent the theming was. In the beginning it was the most intriguing part of the park.

And you are right: People Mover was AWESOME. It is missed, by me at least.

  18. Dave do you know how the ADA disability access works for people who want to ride some of the rides. Are their special entries to the rides and are their Senior discounts for tickets.

  19. I enjoy his videos and when he is at the park people reconize him once in a while you have someone came up to take a picture with him but for most part it's saying hello and waving to him.

  20. Disney should leave Splash Mountain as it is. I miss Country Bear Jambree I was so sad when it was closed to make room for the Winnie the Pooh ride…..I like the cartoon but don't care for the ride.

  21. You get some beautiful shots….not just arms and legs…lol. I won't be returning to the park as pricing has gone way out of my budget even with saving and planning. Wait times and prices are just way too much. Too bad too….this is not what Walt had envisioned. So I get to enjoy the park through you and others.

  22. Would you please walk through a couple of stores on Main Street or the Adventureland Bazaar occasionally? It would be nice if you would also show the window displays on Main Street and of some of the other shops instead of just walking right past everything. Thank you!
