Starsector is one of those games that frankly should be way more known that it is. Its an amazing blend of tactics, empire building and fleet fighting.
Plus the story is very good also, well worth a purchase, no its not on steam, you have to buy it from the software vendor online, madness i know.

I couldn't even estimate how many hours I have in this game, but it's been a perennial favorite for years and years. I've been playing with Nexerlin and the majority of the faction additions for a long time and don't feel like this little gem is even close to played out.
