The name of the game is Starmech, while in the title of the video it's Starfighter, You might want ot look at it ^ ^
About the game itself, it's fine at the first glance, let's see what it will give us in the future
I would like to see a nier automata take on this. Ship mode is side to side and only shoot forward and mech mode is omnidirectional at some sort of cost
Death blossom level 5+= 3…2..1…DEATH BY DISCO
Purple is small amounts of fuel, but you HAVE to have your fuel meter at 100% at the end of the run to escape the Black hole
Really does need passives (fighter shield/mech pds, though death blossom becomes VERY OP), and some kind of magnet/ tractor beam
Death blossom, a weapon of last resort… Thank you “Last Starfighter”
Maybe give mecha mode some neat short range options like swords/flails/pile drivers. Or perhaps mecha equals multi-direction (arms) vs strong uni-diretion in fighter. I do like the transforming idea and having slightly more active control over your bullet heaven protagonist. Certain weapons could need to charge in the opposite mode and get a bonus on the first shot after transformation (as you thought with the green death beam)
This really gives me that old Macross NES game vibe. The game really needs either Nova Drift mods or being able to find ship/mech parts that would add different stats and passive/active skills to it. There should also be weapons that work for both mech and fighter but have different rate of fire or amount or size of projectiles.
Please play more of this
Bullet havens are the type of game they where teaching me to make in my freshman year of high-school. So I'd say there pretty easy to make.
I don't like mechs being slow for so many reasons.
I was watching some of the hearts, and it seems the map loop is barely more than 1 screen wide.
Did you hear that Warframe gets a kinda rougelike/lite mode this year?
So Robotech?
@Wanderbots another oddball I ran into recently…Icewall. Incremental roguelite Space Invaders :/
<Wander piles on the Rocket Pod upgrades>
ITANO CIRCUS, HERE I COME!!!!
One thing I think the mecha form needs is a LAZER SWORD
Man that soundtrack sounds like a unreleased 80/90s Pink floyd song
That first boss was poggers
I don't mind it so much when a genre gets flooded. At least I can then pick the one I like aesthetically. I mean, take Slay the Spire. I don't like the art style, so I can just play a similar game with similar mechanics, but that also has an art style I like.
It's also not hard to separate the wheat from the chaff, thanks to YouTubers and the whole internet.
