Ah the freestar collective I had a feeling they were my sort of faction. Independent, Moderate, individualistic, self reliant, never first to war and never fight without cause, zero exploitation unlike the United colonies collectivist tendencies and Neon city's corporate nature, and they actually solve problems instead of talking about it. This may sound early call but I've got a feeling it is true.
Of course the war is likely a reused plot from the experimental civil war in skyrim where the United colonies are a sci-fi version of the empire and the Freestar Collective are a sci-fi version of the stormcloaks.
I think you might misunderstand. Freestar Collective might be more Chaotic good/neutral, to UC = Lawful good/neutral/evil Both are governments with lots of people interpreting the policies loosely. Good and evil would be the actions of individuals, but the overall policies meant to be more lawful and organized for UC, and more Chaotic erring toward individual freedoms. You can look at how polarizing the left and right can be modern day, as simple a thing as interpretation of laws could erupt into bitter fighting.
