From what I've seen it looks to me like Starfield has the same issue as Fallout 4 – big environments that feel empty and devoid of life. At least it made sense in a post-apocalypse setting, but I can't help but feel like a game like Mass Effect where I always felt like I could run into an NPC or something at any time, that there would be some lore hidden around any corner. Starfield just feels empty. Everything looks flat and empty of character. Maybe playing it would be a different experience, but it looks like a game waiting for updates or expansions to feel finished.
I enjoyed your critique of the game, It's probably the best one I've seen so far. I did disagree with some things you said but you did raise some valid points.
This guy is good looking , dope video 👌🏾
Think i'll wait a few patches before i get the gane. There is still BG3 to finish, armored core 6 to play, jedi survivor is supposedly in a better state now (though apparently the PC version installs malware), i still need to go trough W3 next gen, the cyberpunk DLC and a bunch of other games on my wishlist.
This game however like any proper bethesda game, will probably be perfected by the modders (assuming the modding scene for starfield pops off).
I think it will, i feel like the skyrim modding scene is starting to reach its peak. In the span of a few years most mods essential for a truly great playtrough will be complete and there won't be much more to do other than add more content. I'm guessing a lot of authors will start to migrate to starfield.
At the very least, i can prophesize that within the next two years a fully functional "humena humena" minigame (like Ostim) will be released.
The potential is VERY rivaled. Its not interesting, its a trash pile, they spent 25 years literally developing an empty space.

Here's more reasons why this game sucks https://youtu.be/N1rBpf2RAe4?si=Z_qz-OG-6QbZj4cH
Imagine for each of the randomly generated POIs on each 1000 planets had different variations in both appearance, layout, loot, enemies, etc… Now THAT would be perfect.
Also, they need to tone down how many of those POIs you can find. Because.. every single tile has something. These supposedly unexplored worlds are not unexplored at all. Even near the story places, they're supposed to be new wild discoveries with.. science outposts 500m away..?
The amount of buildings is more immersion breaking to me, than the repetitiveness of them all.
Time to start making youtube your main job, and work your job over the weekend 🙂
in the Crimson Fleet, there's a moment where you can walk up to this lady and ask her for a 1-of-a-kind reward. If you win the persuasion mini-game, she'll let you have the keycard and then say something like "i am glad to get rid of the reward" and that completely took me out of the immersion. like… WHAT?! I was so dissatisfied, that i saved and turned off the game lol.
but after a while i went back and did the main quest and i was like… whoa…. this is awesome! so yeah, i get where you're coming from. this game is so polarizing.
Hot Take: Bethesda purposely did barebones work to lay a foundation for modders to fix and tweak. I think they saw what modders did for skyrim and fallout and are betting for the modding community to keep starfield alive.
I love the cideo but you contradict your self sometimes. You want realism but hate going somewhere to talk to someone. The realism is what they were doing for. Not having communications across planets and galaxys is expected. Also sneak mechanics are based on your character build. And also your vastly overblowing "terrible" quests. You make this game what it is in ways. I appreciate the honest comments although I don't agree with all of them. Way better than people comparing this take to boulders, it's such a dumb comparison it's baffling. So yes it's great to see someone level headed and have an opinion instead of make outlandish comparisons because in today's world hating on everything gets you clout.
This game sucks. Another triple a failure
Huge let down… I hate that they just know modders will fix it… Just make a good game we done need mods to enjoy…
You just earned a sub. Great overview
For me, Starfield is what I thought it’d be, for me, I do agree it could be so much more especially after playing cyberpunk (BG3 ain’t for me) however, I’m having a blast with the combat and I’m curious to see what the future holds for this game with modding and DLC.
Do I think it’s the game of the millennia? No. But I love it, and am having a blast
Hi it’s me damp from your old fortnite and borderlands 3 streams
I listen to most youtube content while doing chores or working out or driving. I suspect i am not in the minority. Keep doing you brother. Edit: bell on.
I feel like this game is a blend of Fallout in space with some sprinkling of that one rogue-like game, FTL. I think its a solid game, just not exactly what they promised. With about 30 hours, my rating is sitting at a 7.5.
Maybe in another universe Alexy would be white again 🙂
Nice review. Its great to see that you realy put your time in experiencing the game before reviewing it. One advice though: try to prevent repetitions. Its like i watched several reviews which all had the same pointa of critique. Thanks for the great review.
Bethesda just made sidequests and forgot that a world exist for much more content. mainstory is the same typical C tier story of this moden generation with extremely underwhelming climax. GTA is the prime example of a bustling world with character and sadly starfied just lightyears behind in making such style of game.
which graphic mods u use for oblivion plz tell love your content
I am trying to play this without comparing it to any of their other games. Hopefully they will update and add more randomly generated outposts and caves, maybe add some more fauna.
This is your fault! And ours. If we had computers the size of a house with a trillion trillion megabytes, we could have all the content you mention, like thousands of different things in the game and new caves to explore every time. But they have to make these games fit on the average computer to get the sales. And that is very limiting for them.
I think BGS made leveling up such a pain is due to the NG+ mechanic and it’s importance to the main story.
Great video, man it kinda reminds me of your take on Cyberpunk. There was so much potential and so much that was achieved, but much of it fell short of what it could have been. That being said, it still ended up being a solid game and a cool new IP with a lot of future potential. Potentially, even BGS best game.
I just hate the way they designed the game to make the player go through everything with little to no risk to the choices made.
