  2. Talk about a divisive game among the critics!
It seems every review source I usually look at for new games has a different opinion about Starfield, covering the whole spectrum of possible opposite opinions, and then some.
    – fast travel simulation
    – just a Bethesda game with fewer bugs than usual
    – I like it a lot, but I don't love it
    – finally Bethesda went back to true RPG
    – I'm ok with somewhat realistic nasa-punk, but I prefer more fantasy flavor in games from this developer
    – the main quest is boring but side content is sometimes very good
    – don't get lost in disjointed side content, just go down the main story line, which is fantastic at pulling you into the immersion
    – this is actually how space exploration should be, minus the wasted time walking back to your ship and flying it to your next destination
    – the game is so fragmented and constantly interrupted you'll never get to feel any immersion
    – this is true next gen RPG
    – this is an old game with old mechanics and old graphics, not next gen enough
    – etc…
You get the gist, I'm sure many others have seen how all over the place the reaction to Starfield is at the moment.

Personally I'll wait some months before trying Starfield, as I do for every game no exception since I made the mistake to preorder CP2077.
(Also, in this case I'll need some hardware upgrades, at the very least in the SSD department with how huge expansive AAA games like this one have become nowadays)

But I think it's intriguing how slpit experienced gamers are in this case. I'm pretty sure it'll be an interesting game to experience directly, as good or as bad as it'll be for me.

    On another completely different note.
I've seen there is a new "Official 2023 Announcement Trailer" for "Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2".
It's quite a bit discouraging to see this game having to put a year in their announcements… in their OFFICIAL announcement, actually, in order to let us know there's something new happening.
Still, this time they say it's getting published in fall 2024.
Waiting for Mr Mortismal Gaming view on this, hoping he has more insights on the current situation…
    Fingers crossed.

    Thanks for your videos!

  4. What's the best/fastest way to get the best ship parts? Is it through resource extraction from planets, outright buying the parts using cash you earn in quests, contraband and piracy, or ship takeovers? I would like to build the best ship but don't want to spend too much time on a system that isn't ideal for the goal.

  5. Best part of the game for me. I was hoping it was going to be more like Elite Dangerous, but it's still fun. I just need more space missions I go back to repeatable missions just for some space fun and easy money.

  6. I'm a paltry 40 hours in, so maybe those with longer runs can tell me otherwise, but my one ship related complaint is there doesn't seem to be a lot of space combat happening outside of pre-determined encounters. Almost feels like the only way to be involved in that aspect is to go the piracy route? Which kinda sucks.

Other than that, I'm loving it. The few encounters I've had were enjoyable. Getting to build a ship from scratch was really cool because I got to be pretty creative with it. Also, I just today discovered that if you take the [redacted] trait, you'll get a pretty decent free ship from [redacted].

  7. I ended up taking more of a research vessel that can handle itself in a scrap. That has the massive capacity and cargo space necessary to rapidly put outposts on bases. The outpost system had a bit of a learning curve but going full science has thus far been a fun playthrough. Especially once you create an infrastructure that's capable of rapidly upgrading new gear.

  8. Waiting for the Outpost vid, about to finish the game to rush into new game plus. Good game, but its Fallout 5 with mass efrect mixed in I wish there were settlements that I could create but outposts will have to do.

  9. I don't really get the habitation modules atm, I don't know if there is a list or something I missed that explains what each one does or has inside it but that's the missing piece of the puzzle for me in ship building

  10. I just can’t do this combat. No matter where I am, how I fly, I am always being shot. My shields can never recover, my hull melts. Hiding behind geometry doesn’t work, they just shoot the asteroids till they’re gone, or shoot me in the cracks in between a space station, (Such as the end of the Crimson Fleet quest line). I even managed to steal a pretty sweet UC ship, but more health means nothing when I cannot avoid a single thing.
My apologies, I am just venting. I want so badly to like this game, but the ship combat gut punches me everytime I’m having fun.

  11. How do you build a ship that influences the interior layout of connecting doors and ladders? right now it all seems random and can cause you to trek through the entire ship just to get somewhere a single door would have gotten you to

  12. There are some more things I wanted to know about spaceships like from when it is yours? when you killed everyone and SIT in the chair? Can you get back to your ship after that or you need to land your new ship and change it before it will be yours? Also my initial idea was that I take ships take their PARTS and build your ship from that, but it seems you can only sell those as a whole ship so not really sure who to unlock new parts.. So what about unique parts? You can only have 1 unique part on your ship? if you want a specific unique part you need to build a whole ship with it?

  13. I’m finding this super difficult to get used to.
On controller I feel like my controls are inverted and every item is a magnet with like poles.

But I persevere because the ships and their component design are sublime.

Every cargo pod and rocket looks real and like it really does work.

The first time I looked closely at the docking clamp I was blown away and I stared at a radiator that looks like it could have been bolted to a real lunar lander from the 60s.

I usually hate 30hz and am constantly amazed at how smooth it feels on xbox and I’m so glad they went with 4K because I can look at these ships all day. (I know it’s upscaled from 1440p but looks like almost native 4K to me)

I can’t wait to get good at building so I’ll be watching this more than once👍

  14. Can I get space combat missions on the mission board or something ? I fly around for days looking for a fight haha but. I settle for just loading different planets and shooting any ship I see.. now I got a 100k bounty with UC

  15. why the game doesn’t let me install parts that need level 4 starship design if i have barret in my crew or even if he goes with me to the parts shop? is that normal or maybe bugged on my end?

  16. I think it's interesting that The Outer Worlds had only a handful of planets to visit, had zero ship combat, you couldn't even get a new ship, and people were more than happy with it. All I ever see is Starfield isn't No Man's Sky, Starfield isn't Star Citizen, Starfield doesn't have this or that…okay but…they never promised you it would be.

  17. Love the vid! I have really enjoyed the ship building so far, and spent WAY too many hours tinkering with my primary ship. I used the Frontier as a base ship, and have made a large three story not ultra maneuverable, but extremely well armed home for me and the crew.
