Unity can do thousands of objects and allow all of them to interact physically.

And I'm sure that when it comes to this, Unreal, especially Unreal 5, can do a lot better. You've probably already seen the demos.
Nothing against cohh , but i never saw somebody shill that hard for a broken game .
Maybe he has stocks in bethesda , i dont know . But its sad to see .
glad i skipped starshit
Starfield runs great on my rx6700, and surprises me every time it does so with the amount of detail and physics they put in.
Its a sandbox rpg with first person combat and it doesn't make any sense to compare it to BG3. Both are winners for me and 2 of the best games I've played in a very long time.
I think it is pretty telling that my brother, who is the biggest bethesda fan I know, is still playing what I think is now his third playthrough of BG3 and are not that excited for starfield.
1:53:00 "BG3 is still a niche product" With 800K+ concurrent players 2 weekends in a row. How is Starfield doing in comparison?
I know that number is steam only, and there's other platforms I'm not seeing, but still.
I tried playing starfield, got to the first city where you meet that girl and others. but man, I just got bored as fuck and with the new Coral Island update taking up most of my time. I just don't see myself going back. and with Eternights coming out tomorrow I won't be going back for a VERY long time.
6mil players isn't sales bro, imagine how many copies were actually sold out of 6m? haha, i'd say 25% of that is sales. maybe not even that.
i think sometimes people can forget how buggy skyrim was, how allot of the dialogue in tht was garbage, but we found a way to love it more because of its faults, lets be honest who doesn't want a mountain climbing horse
I don't exactly understand Cohhs outlook that the guy was smug asking Todd about PC optimization. This has been a criticism of Bethesda for 15+ years, and they still lack basic features like FOV settings or texture quality. Then people are finding out the game doesn't handle CPUs or GPUs very well and are sharing fixes already that vastly improve the framerate.
Makes me miss Totalbiscuit, it's a bit annoying that any criticism is met with, "well this is just how they are." At least when people bring up From Software they do improve upon each release for the ten years they've released on the platform.
The thing I hate most in starfield is the lock picking.
Cohh would be excited for bloodlines if it were made by a dev he knows…how controversial
What’s the difference between 150 hours of BG3 and someone spending 1000 hours in call of duty.
Just because it’s call of duty doesn’t make it less crazy than a crpg
I wonder if Bethesda/MS/Game Pass/etx had ads about Starfield, and if those ads told people (who might unaware), that they shouldnt play a Bethesda game for the main quest, or the bugless experience, etc. etc…
Dude if we have to wait till 2026 for the next Elder Scrolls and it looks like Skyrim with a 4k texture pack on it, it's going to be the biggest letdown.
Not saying its right….but if you don't know what to expect from a Bethesda game at this point then thats completely on you.
Jp, you said that it was over 200k players on steam, which means that meant that over 200k people would have bought the 100$ edition. but that doesn't seem right? because isn't starfield on both xbox game pass AND PC game pass? so all they had to do to play it early was buy the deluxe edition which was only 30$.
BG3 currently my GOFTY easy and unless I really like something else.
I will I am yet to finish BG3 still as I work…
I have not played Zelda but have not played any Zelda games Nintendo is is more Mario then Zelda for me…
I will play Starfield after I finish BG3.
Well, I'm convinced. It's time to do another playthrough of No Man's Sky!
With peace and love, Cohh you have to let your co-hosts speak more….
I think ya'll are wrong about BG3 when it comes to the possibility of GOTY. Like yes it is a CRPG and yes CRPG's are niche. But part of being the GOTY and part of being just a 9/10 or 10/10 game in general is being so good that it appeals even to people outside the niche target audience and get people to play and enjoy it that otherwise would never play that type of game. The game really showcased excellence and did things people thought weren't possible in gaming as a medium, that's exactly the kind of thing a GOTY contender does. The game blew up even outside the CRPG gamer niche and was like everywhere with everyone talking about it and how good it was. Also keep in mind other GOTY winners at TGA are also niche games. Elden Ring is a souls game and souls games were ALWAYS niche, and it still won.
This is just the first time we've had a CRPG that is so good it has a really good chance of taking GOTY at TGA.
EVERY criticism I've heard of Starfield is true but I'm still enjoying it.
Calling Bethesda's continued use of Creation engine an example of 'sunk cost fallacy' is so incredibly ignorant and dumb it's honestly painful. I love gaming and I don't mind gamers, but the self-indulgent circle jerking can be nauseating at times.
Seriously, I want to eventually play this game but just such a thing like modders making a way better UI in the matter of DAYS?? HOW THE F DID THE GAME NOT LAUNCH WITH A BETTER UI?! It makes me straight up mad at the devs, and it makes me not wanna support them.
When JP was saying how BG3 coming out first has affected the comparisons to Starfield, the way I would put it is: People have already made up their minds about BG3. If they had come out at the same time, people would have been comparing them on an equal footing, but in this world, BG3 is already the benchmark. And that's good. AAA Studios need their feet held to the fire.
The conversation about baulders gate 3 will end right around the game awards when tears of the kingdom wins game of the years.
I'm grateful to all the Starfield coverage for getting me to jump back into NMS after so many years, and really appreciate what a marvel that game has become.
listening to you guys talk about the exploration and you are 100% correct about the caves, they seem to be mostly good for resource gathering or the occasional random quest, however the structures and facilities you can visit have amazing gear, contraband and unique lore
sounds like people rightfully expected the caves to work like they do in Skyrim and they don’t, but the other stuff is really cool
Not pc to make fun of Trans-Trucks lol
Every time Cohh stops a conversation for a long pause and says "Here's the thing…" prepare yourselves to have everything he just said for 40 minutes regurgitated.
Someone else commented about him taking up so much time on the show. I honestly don't mind, but he's not concise and circles the drain.
My biggest gripe is when the other hosts (Namely JP) want to talk, steer the conversation, or wrap it up and move on… he gets interrupted.
+1 for Strippin, Dan & JP. Most polite and concise episodes in a long long time.
Great that you post these podcasts on youtube JP!
hopefully next week we're fuckin over this starfield trash
