Ngl I gave high republic a chance couple months ago. I was surprised it's actually not bad. I had same reaction to first book, the world building was not very interesting bc it's kinda slow, but I feel once you get through the intro then its great. I read most of phase 1 including comics and I NEVER read comics
What's with the theme of games or movies or TV to be female characters displayed and forced to be like men and men displayed and forced to be like women.
I wouldn't complain if it was done right but it never is and fucking pisses me off now. I hope it's good but seems political and sus
Hopefully it isn't plagued with iffy writing like a lot of Quantum Dream's other games.

Definitely give THR another chance! There's so much info and lore about the new era and how the jedi operated, new ways of using the force and even some nods to things like Bastila Shans battle meditation. If you started with Light of the Jedi, I'm confused what was boring, it starts off with mayhem and destruction on a massive scale.

I've learned, with Star Wars games, wait for gameplay footage. ALWAYS WAIT FOR GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE.
I'm not the biggest fan of this newer High Republic Era, I still think there's so many better characters and stories of the Old Republic Era, and I would even love to see them go back further than that, into the time period that Dawn of the 'Jedi: Into the Void' was written; predating the lightsaber and the Jedi as we know them. When I went back and read it, I loved it, and I can't believe there's no games or other books from that far back in the timeline of Legends. Unless I'm mistaken.
