  1. The Japanese internment camps were also because there WAS sleeper cells which helped the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor so effectively. So the question became either trust no one or risk another attack from inside. My great grandparents were also put in a POW camp after they escaped East Germany, even though they were innocent victims, but how can anyone know that for sure? In times of war you have to make hard choices. Remember, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, and you need to protect your people.

  2. Excellent Episodes choices of Season 4. The Drumhead is essential Star Trek.
Season 5 will be more difficult, there are a lot of really good Episodes. I think the Inner Light, Darmok and The First Duty could win, these are really strong episodes.

  3. "Oh my Gosh! Picard for President!" … hmm. His slogan would be (with correct british accent):"Make it so, that Starfleet, well known of it's establishment of truth, seeking new life and other noble deeds, indeed, a great and prosperous institute of united stars again.", or shorter "Let's make Starfleet great again!" 😀

  4. K'Ehleyr knew how dangerous it was to look into the sealed archives, she knew that Duras would find out about it. She sacrificed her life to stop Duras from taking power and to make Worf regain his honor.

  5. 1:00:47 – You are absolutely correct. If you have an idea that you believe, you will find evidence to support it, whether that evidence exists or not, and summarily reject any evidence that does not support it. It's called confirmation bias, and it's a powerful psychological phenomenon. We're all guilty of it from time to time, but flat-Earthers are notorious for it.

  6. Seasons 3 and 4 are hard to pick a handful of episodes because TNG was firing on all cylinders during these years. If you decide to watch some key episodes of DS9, first off good luck because it's hard to pull just 3-4 from any season of that show. Second, you'll need to circle back and watch a few additional TNG episodes like "The Wounded" (season 4), "Ensign Ro" (season 5), "Chain of Command" (season 6), and "Preemptive Strike" (season 7).

  7. Who the hell chose these episodes? I understand there are some pleasant ones she'd like, but what a bizarre selection. Remember Me, Future Imperfect, Clues, Night Terrors. Some of the show's best 🥲

  8. Just had a look forward to season 5 and what episodes you may watch and so many of them are familiar and really good that I've no idea how you'll limit it to just 4 episodes. Some ground ones, amazing special guests and numerous plot points that are brought back from past episodes and seeded for future films and the Picard series. Good luck sifting through that lot, I don't think just 4 episodes [and finales] are enough for this season!

  9. The scene with Dr. Crusher teaching Data to tap dance always reminds me of a story from when I was 17. I was looking at an audition that required dancing, including tap. I had never taken a dance class, but my friend Sharon had been doing it since toddlerhood, and was very good, so I asked her to at least teach me the basic steps before the audition. I made into the dance chorus, and Sharon got the part of the leading lady.

  10. If you want to really dig into SOCIAL ISSUES, watch Star Trek Deep Space 9 – Nothing is more powerful than weaving racism/fear/faith than inventing a new religion to be able to mirror those of the real world without having the stigma of of talking about real world issues.

  11. As corny as it is, one of the best parts of this channel is when Cassie randomly ships two characters in a show or movie that has almost nothing to do with romance. Picard and Troi, lol.

  12. Hope we get to see some episodes with Troi's mum Lwaxana on your Star Trek Journey?…
( Always remember her as a fun character…
So much so that she also graced a couple of episodes of DS9…
Which I hope you also watch after Next Gen… )

  13. Some day down the road if you get a hankerin' for some more quality scifi you should watch Babylon 5. It's serialized though, so you'd have to watch all the episodes.

  14. Alexander's mom dying was one of those 'zig-zags' that the show really got wrong. She was much more interesting of a character for Worf than anything else they did with him.

  15. A little detail in Family I've always liked: when Jean-Luc is covered in mud at the end, the parts of his face that aren't covered by mud are the same parts that were covered by Borg implants when he was Locutus.

  16. There's lot of things you miss by just doing most requested/suggested episodes, but at the same time you'd still be on season 1 if you were watching the other eps between recording. 😅

  17. I would strongly suggest watching more the 4 episodes per season… you're missing out on a lot of good stuff, especially now that you are currently passing over some of the best seasons of TNG.
