The theme of this movie will later be the theme of the next generation tv show.
I quite like this one, but you're right, some of the shots are waaaay too long and the film could have actually been a lot shorter (kind of episode lenght even). I'm not even an impatient millenienial. The bit where they are inspecting the enterprise from the shuttle…yeah, we get it, its a lovely detailed model and you're showing it off😂.
In my humble opinion wrath of khan and undiscovered County are the best of all the movies including next gen MOVIES not series. Like i said my opinion
"V'ger is a child. It only knows that it wants." …to binge watch 'Popcorn In Bed'!
The wrath of khan is amazing
Hi great reaction your response at the end was spot on about the story line. The second movie titled the wrath of con which was played by Ricardo montalban you know who con is
I don't know if you would remember the tv series fantasy island late 70's he was the host of a magical resort, in most movies
or shows he played a tough or bad guy.
Best Trek movie to date.
i assume all the watching of the Star Trek Original Series and the Movies is a a build up to watching Galaxy Quest.
They did 6. And the only one you should avoid is V.
Star Wars episode IV caused a huge interest in Sci-fi movies and Star Trek took the chance to get involved. Although this movie was a bit long, slow paced and more intellectual than others made post Star Wars, it ultimately led to more Star Trek movies which in turn led to the 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' series and the various Star Trek spin-offs. The next movie, "The Wrath of Khan" is much more action based and one of the best involving Kirk & co.
Great reaction Cassie, I look forward to following your future adventures. "React well and be popular" as a certain Vulcan might've said.
“He’s probably sad about his logical necklace award” deserves to be a T-shirt 🙂
In 79 we hadn’t proven black holes.
the 1st isnt the best…. BUT do these FOR sure: 2, because awesome; 3-4, its a bit of trilogy; 6, my personally favourite; and 8, because TNG and Borg
This first movie is probably the epitome of Roddenberry's vision both the good and the bad. While it satisfied him and many of the fans it didn't do well overall with general audiences. A major shift in power happens from the second movie onward where the studio exerted more influence and the next chance Gene got to really be in charge were the first 2 seasons on Star Trek: The Next Generation which as a whole have never been well thought of.
we used to call it "the motionless picture"
It’s still. In space. Right now.
From here on out the Kolinahr will forever be called: "The Logic Necklace Award"
Since you have seen both Star Wars and Star Trek you need to see Fanboys.
Be prepared for the odd numbered slumps.
Watch these movies and react to them. You'll LOVE them.
1. Stir of Echoes
2. Identity
3. Frequency
4. Matchstick Men
5. A Perfect Murder
Yet another, Star Trek in december… No christmas movies?
Yeah you pretty much nailed the plot 😅 great movie a proper star trek episode in feature length. Warth of Khan next 🖖🏾
During an interview a fan tried the Vulcan salut and could not do it correctly. She asked to pardon her as she spoke Vulcan with an accent!.
I am a fan of this first Star trek movie and I enjoyed your reaction to it. If you have time to sneak one more episode in before Star Trek II, I would recommend the Journey to Babel. It features Spock's parents who will appear in the movies.
I just watched the 2nd part of you and your sister reacting to lord of the rings return of the king if you guys loved those movies I suggest you watch the hobbit trilogy those movies are set 60 years before the lord of the rings movies and tells the story of how bilbo acquired the one ring
yes, a totally different experience in the theater. scenes that seem "old" and slow on a small screen could actually be a pretty awesome experience live, in the theater. excellent recap too! keep on rockin
they had to "step-it-up" after Star Wars
Good for you enjoying the tour of the Enterprise. Many call it boring. To me, it's the best part of the movie.
still got the "golden gate" in 7400AD
I was a boy when this came out, and I saw it at the theater. I was already a fan of the TV show, and seeing this on the big screen back then was epic (quite a step up from the TV show's budget and presentation). I remember thinking that the movie was slow (especially compared to Star Wars) but there was something grand about it. Haven't seen it in years, so it was nice to revisit it.
a lot of hair dye

Are you going to watch all 13 Star Trek movies?
