Star Trek: September – 2023 – Star Trek: Borg

Happy Star Trek: September everyone!

Star Trek: Borg is an interactive movie PC game. In it the player takes on the role of Cadet Qaylan Furlong, whose father was killed by the Borg at the Battle of Wolf 359. With the help of Q, the player goes back in time to his father’s ship, the Excelsior-class USS Righteous, to prevent his death and the destruction of the ship.

For a very long time it wasn’t easy to play the game on modern systems, but luckily that changed. The master of upscaling not only upscaled the entire video footage, but also recreated the entire game in-browser!

PS: Sorry guys, for some reason Youtube didn’t save the chat. So, it really feels like I’m having a conversation with myself 🙂

  1. I am planning on making a movie called "BORG" in big letters the movie and title start off in Space and eventually float away to reveal the Original Borg planet where it all started….. Before they were the Borg.

  2. They did an amazing job. I didn't even know there was a DVD version. I've said for a long time it would be nice to remaster this using the original negatives (like TNG). But it seamed unrealistic since not even DS9 or VGR got remastered. Back in the day there were times this game drove me nuts because my computer was so slow. It would be perfectly fine, but then certain scenes like the borg console would slow to a crawl. The VGR sets don't bug me, but damn the uniforms do. VGR era uniforms in the TNG era?

  3. oh speaking of star trek klingon, I bought a copy back in the day after enjoying borg. But I bought it out of a bargain bin while on vacation. When I got home the discs were all blank, but they weren't CD-Rs. They were professionally made discs………that had nothing on them. Obviously a manufacturing defect. I even did a hex dump. 650mb of all 0's. Very odd. I've never seen anything like it. When I got voyager elite force, I got a bonus disc that was supposed to have extra junk on it……that disc wouldn't read properly. In fact it would freeze the computer. No idea what the deal was. But at least the game worked unike klingon. I wasn't even able to analyze it because of the freezing.
