I remember watching Levar Burton on Reading Rainbow during the day and looking for him while watching Star Trek with my dad at night.
Was never a fan but appreciated the series & movies. It wasn't something I looked forward to for the next movie or episode. However, this video was really cool.

A little known fact about the original Star Trek was that when Gene Roddenberry pitched his concept to the major networks in the late 1960s or early 1970s, they decided to go with a different TV show instead…”Lost in Space.” I heard this from Gene himself after he visited our campus at East Tn State U., when several of us trekkies went to dinner with him after his “show.” He was very interesting to talk with. As I remember, there were 4 or 5 of us students and Gene. Who knew then what he would become?
Star Trek the next generation is one of my favorite shows just like TOS Voyager deep space nine Star Trek prodigy those are my favorite it's nice to see the cast on stage again having a Star Trek fan since I was like five or six and now I'm 54 keep on trekking!lol

Picard started out great but once they went sooo political by bringing in Stacy Abrams as “president” I never turned it back on. What an ignoble end to a once great series.

I started watching Star Trek OS reruns on PBS Chanel 44 Wikes-Barre/Scranton in around 1980. I probably saw 90% of the OS but when TNG started, the OS immediately felt clunky and old.
Brent Spiner was the best. Didn't think that androids could have such a good sense of humor. I will be watching the entire TNG series again for the 7th time
While I'm not quite as dedicated as the fans that cosplay the Star Trek characters, I have been a fan of Star Trek from the first series, and just love The Next Generation, Star Trek Voyager, Deep Space 9, and Star Trek Enterprise. Bringing back the crew for the 3rd season of Picard is awesome!

Dude, who you kidding? You've actually grown to look almost exactly like when you played Dr. Seung – Data's "father" – in TNG. All you'd need is your crazy "Independence Day" hair & be hunched over all the time & it'd be perfect.
I like Picard. I liked SNG and all of the regulars. All except one. I cannot stomach Whoopi in any role in any dose. Sorry, I'm out on any show she is in.
I am far away from my family. Grew up poor in the mountains of Puerto Rico. My dad and I saved up enough to get a telescope and he was an aficionado of all things astronomy. The Arecibo Telescope was a place to go to whenever we could. I was raised on books of Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke and a growing collection recordings my dad had of TNG. I came into the series as a kid mid-run heh. It was a ritual to sit down and watch this show. Every September, that ritual still comes around.
Even growing up I saw a lot of the difficult challenges Data went through. Later on I was diagnosed with autism and I understood, why, in many ways, I could relate to the character. Looking back on it, I am grateful that Data wasn't written as autistic, so that it allowed me to find this character, rather than it finding me. Because it was in the plot points of his life that I could see some of my own plot points, if you will.
I will not say I was pleased with Nemesis, for all the reasons above. Nor that I was particularly pleased with season 1 of Picard. But, one thing I am is grateful to this cast that, for years, have stuck around with us – and we can be not such an easy bunch. But that's what you get with nerdy minds. We focus on the details of things – autistic as I am I tend to hyper focus. This can be a hindrance at times, but, it shows something else. A love for even the smallest details available and the world that has been built. The characters you have played.
Please forgive us when we are a bit passionate about your work. I am sure you understand. To me, TNG means, home. Means time with my father. Means being back with my dad and my brother and my mom and having a night to ourselves to hope for the best. That despite being as poor as we were, we could reach for the stars – and we did. It means that no matter my challenges I was able to reach far enough, because, as Data put it "the effort yields its own rewards" – a philosofy that I have lived with since I understood it.
It means a lot to a lot of us.
So, I am giving this a shot and if it works out I hope this is not the end of it. Wouldn't mind seeing a Noonien Soong show with a 'Snow in the Desert' kind of look and a character that sort of lives with a code at the edge of the Federation, but still very Federation. A complex creator of a complex character. Who knows? Mr. Matalas, please, heh…
And Mr. Spiner, we met down in Orlando at MegaCon. Now it's a nice time to go to Savannah, GA actually. The Johnny Mercer statue at Ellis Square awaits and so does the real Moon River 😀

They will never know how much they mean to me to this day. 35 years later I remember the life lessons they taught and how they brought hope for the future. Live long and prosper and always remember that your priority is the ship.
It is refreshing to see these folks thanking the fans instead of attacking them like other franchises are doing these days. Hopefully this will be the norm instead of the rare exception from now on.
Star Trek Picard is exactly why I subscribed to my first streaming service Paramount +.
If Paramount Plus is not showing new episodes of any of their programs, take them down if I have watched them already! Tired of them showing Picard when I've watched them all! Give me the ability to say I watched them so they are not putting it out there like it's new! Star Trek Discovery and others that are not being produced and I have watched!

Season 2 was pretty stellar. I think they hit a home run on Season 2. Season 1 was OK.. Hopefully Season 3 will be better than Season 2.
So why did we have to sit through two seasons of whatever Picard was to get to this point? I am going to give Season 3 a try on Robert Meyer Burnett's recommendation.
The older Brent gets the more evil I think he looks. I just don't trust that face.. and I don't know why.

Picard Season 1 and 2 were so absolutely awful. I have no idea why anyone would be tricked into watching Season 3.
It's ashame Star Trek: Picard is so atrociously bad. I just pretend it doesn't exist.
