  1. Star Citizen is on a whole other level. The comparison is laughable.
Solar system to solar system including seemless transition to and from planets. No loading.
Details on a micro and macro level are crazy.
The engine and toolset invented to push gaming further is revolutionary.

  2. The SteamCharts pages for Starfield and Skyrim SE are quite interesting; the lowest playercounts between both of them are less than 5k apart, and Skyrim still manages to get within around 10k of the peak 24 hour count for Starfield every week or so.

I can't blame prominent Bethesda staff for leaving the company after a belly-flop of this magnitude.

  4. Just FYI, moddable content was from way back in the day when it was CIG's intention to make, in addition to Squadron 42 and Star Citizen, an off-line version of Star Citizen where people could host (and mod) their own servers. Due to the change of scope when players voted to keep going for an expanded world, the private server version fell by the wayside.

  5. Have to disagree about Vulkan not providing visual benefits. In and of it's self it does not BUT it does have interfaces for getting at ray tracing which means H/W accelerated global illumination and lighting which can make a big visual difference if you're wanting a 'dynamic' game. Probably going to tank performance without a monster GPU and FSR/DLSS but still the option is there. I bet CIG want to use that to speed up churning out their star systems by reducing the amount of work for the artists. Suspect if you want to use mesh shading to get some performance back that's going to need DX12 or Vulkan also to access the features in the GPU.
