  1. Mongrel squad, I've had a Hoodie of your original logo for quite some time that I wear every day.
I believe I can solve your ship exploding issue.
How about a ship or device that can disable logging out and or disabling the self destruct sequence instead of having a bad cargo price to make things interesting? See if you have a device that disables the self destruct and log out options you'd be able to get things done where cargo haulers can get their prices AND pirates can avoid that "I don't care Self destruct /Logout" mentality.
Post on spectrum… contact Devs and see of they can make it happen as this has ALWAYS been a crux in gameplay.
We are all linked… we are ALL looking for gameplay and we should look for solutions together.
I'm a smuggler… and I watch your channel with interest in Flying under the radar.
So yeah… I watch Jack too and he has a point. You should have options and many targets. But you should have options to disable actions that would allow cargo runners to avoid gameplay. Soft death is one… let's get the rest ingame like a self destruct lock out and bed logging lock out. If the player rage quits his ship is immediately in soft death. That will curve that ridiculous behavior.

  2. I would like to say. I notice in your video that one of your concerns is how this refactor and cargo impacts pirating as well as haulers. That said, if CIG does not do anything to at least appeals haulers then pirating becomes essentially dead. If CIG was not ready to widen the issues of cargo hauling because of the work involved in "throwing out and re-adding things" then they shouldn't have introduced the refactor yet. BTW, Pirating is only viable if players essentially participate. The haulers are YOUR gameplay loop. You cannot bitch about the haulers feelings because it would impact YOUR gameplay loop to essentially pirate them.

  3. If anyone thinks there is going to be any kind of balance in this game right now you're wrong. The pendulum is going to swing back and forth until balancing is on the Dev's list. We all need each other to make the game fun. Pirates need the cargo haulers and, if the hauler is honest about it, need the pirates. One without the other makes a boring ass game. Think bigger, think about where this game will eventually be when we have dozens of solar systems with planets, moons and stations everywhere. Outposts will and player settlements are going to need food and other supplies, cargo haulers are going to be a thing. And likewise, pirates are going to be a thing. 3.18 is just a step toward having a realistic game play loop where cargo acts like it might in real life if a ship is attacked and knocked out of action. Pirates won't have to be accused of just being "griefers" they will actually get a reward for their planning, waiting and executing an attack.

It's all going to be alright, people. We aren't even close to where this game will bring us once 4.0 hits and future patches are put out.

Everything talked about here, the price of the risk by the hauler, the risks the pirates take, everything will balance out eventually.

  4. It's always interesting to hear from the other side of the fence if you will as an industrial org.

My orgs plans aren't really changing re security and best practices as we have been acting as if we already had 3.18. (Escorts, gunners and crew armed and armoured). This being said we are looking forward to the reduced competition for the higher value commodities.

Of course we won't say no to any business opportunities we can create through refuling and salvaging ect afterall we don't ask and you don't tell.

I think that's a potential goldmine for mutual profit that the org less and some Industrial orgs are sleeping on due to wanting to avoid anything to do with pirates.

  5. CIG PURPOSEFULLY drives miscommunications to drive sales. Thats the fucking problem. Instead of acknowledging that fact all the people with reputation or money sunk in this game will just keep saying "Theyre making the game still, its an alpha" at this rate of mismanagement even with all the money in the world CR will die or this project will flop.

A game shouldnt require "more work" from the player base to make the game fun.
Even the pirates have been honey dicked and its sad to see them white knighting bullshit.

"This person just wanted more" So should you after almost 3 years of "refactoring cargo mechanics" enjoy the fuckin new UI.
